Well after looking around for a car the last few weeks and have narrowed down my choices

I am more of a honda/acura guy but the accord 07 doesnt cut it feature wise (we have an 05 loaded). Debating on the 07 and like the styling of the SE especially with the v6 at 268 hp and the six speed auto.

Any comments /feedback on this car .........

widespread of transmission problems
there has been some of reports of early failures at around 500~800 miles
due to a faulty snap-ring in the transmission

avoid the 07 Camry now
wait until 08 or even 09 when they will have it completely fixed

or see if the gen3 auto transmission is a reliable one

toyota is doing a lot of damage control putting out this wild fire but i think a recall should be coming soon once they come up with a proper solution

actually im on TN and rear about the tranny problems. I would be purchasing extended warranty until at least 160k or possible 200k. but is there any thing else about this car that would interesting to know.

i personally dont like the blue plastic in the interior
looks really cheap and not mature for a car like Camry

i would opt for nagivation if u have the extra money

...that car is butt ugly. Get the gorgeous Accord instead.

I am a Honda/Acura type of guy too. However, I find the design on the 2007 Camry to be more eye catching and attactive than compared to the 2007 Honda Accord. The new Accords just doesn't appeal to me for some reason.

Wow...I love the 2006 Accord (I assume 07 is the same). I think it's the nicest one they've made in years.

Honda has made some ugly cars though. I have a 96-00 model Civic, but haven't seen one I'd buy since.

no for the tranny reason, do you want new tranny every 10k km? Wait till 08 or after the recall is done.

No, the Sonata Sr. is butt ugly even after the 06 facelift. And listen to Techie..tranny problems are to be avoided. Let them workout the kinks first.

I actually have an 05 accord EX-L in NHB but will be giving it to my mother and getting another ar to use for work. I will be purchasing the extended warranty until 160 k atleast.

As for the looks I like it with the new body kit on the SE. I will get the stock stereo and add an aftermarket 7 inch screen later. The OEM navi does ****.

ok then...
not a bad idea either

stock Navi is actually awesome
unless u r planning to get something like Eclipse navigation afterwards, nothing really beats the stock navi

i dont think extended warranty is really necessary

this transmission problem seems like its either break really early or dont break at all
but since the car is still in its first model year, we wont really know for sure
but when problems happen, sometimes toyota buys back the car + offers extended warranty on the new car

maybe to you. to me the 06-07 sonata (sr.??) is much more pleasing than the butt ugly 07 camry.

The Camry SE looks pretty nice with the special grille and body kit! This is actually the first camry that I wouldn't mind driving. I hate the look of the other trims though. But if you already know that there's a major problem that they don't have a fix for yet, why take the chance to buy it and hope for the best?

I test drove the 07 SE V6 when my parents bought the new Camry SE I4. I know that car has 268hp, but when i drove it, i dont feel the car has that much power. The transmission shift is not smooth at high speed and I read that they were having problem with thier new 6 speed transmission.

So I told my parents to get the I4, as it looks the same from the outside and they can save on the gas with the I4 engine.

As for the look, i think it looks better that the new altima or the Accord (at least fromt he pictures i looked at). I do believe that Toyota did a great job with the SE, but i am not sure if i will like to get the non-se ones just base on the look. If you ask me, if i were to buy a new 07 Camry, i will only get the SE, as the other ones just dont cut it.

The 07 Camry SE is the first Toyota to ever caught my attention. I know I would not be caught dead in an 06 or earlier revision of the Camry, too much of a granny/family feel. The 07 looks young and sporty, don't know how Toyota did it, but they pulled it off, imo.

But looks alone is not everything though, if I was in the market and knowing about the tranny issues I would stay away, at least for now until something's done about it.
