What type of car? What engine? Is it a motorcycle? Is the noise when the engine is cold? Hot?
Needing a valve adjustments is very very rare nowadays.

You might need a new rubber gasket for valve cover
Some Sealant, Feeler Gauges, Box end wrenches.
It really depends on what car. The idea is to start out from the TDC and then keep rotating the crank according to the firing order and adjust the valve lashes to spec. Pretty easy to do.

I know that Honda's require a valve adjustment once every 4 yrs or 80k kms. Cost wise your looking at approx $30 for parts (Gasket & gromits) and approx $60 in labour.

I'm at 100,000k with the Prelude with no work done, but I don't hear any noise coming from the engine, should I do it anyways?
Or should I just wait til I hit 120k and do it together with the timing belt work?

its for a 96 acura integra (210K), its loud when cold. I am thinking do the timing belt as well.
Do you know if the valve adjustment is part of procedure that is done by a mechanic when replacing timing belt and waterpump?

If you haven't done your 200K timing belt yet then do the timing belt + valve adjust. Saves a valve gasket / reseal.

Does anyone know a good place to get it all done?

A water pump when you do the timing belt is a very good precaution. Honda dealers actually have the best price when it comes to this job. They have a package price for this job and it is normally posted in the service department. They have the tools and know exactly how to do it so, find a dealer in your area. They can look at the noise issue when in there.
A ticking noise when you start a cold engine is not unusual with an overhead cam with 200,000 KM's on your Honda.

Perhaps it is ticking lifters? Common on Dodges/Plymouths/Mitsubishi/Eagles.

Thanks for your thredjacking.
To answer your question it is the accessory belt too loose or need replacement.

uhh bro accessory belt squeels not tappet noise, tappet noise is for sure valve adjustment.
Get it done asap, the b series engines are notoroious for dieing if the adjustments are not done when noisy.
I'd get it done a bit to the looser side (tight is not good and very loose is not good). Google your cars engine code valve adjustment and im sure there are several guides online. I did it on my CRV's b20z5 (which I believe is similar to one of the integra's engines). Not hard to do at all. Just time and tools and 2 sets of hands is good.
