Somtimes i see waves of lines going across my screen on my dell 2007fp. This is espescially visible for white and grey screens. What can be the cost for that?

I don't know if your 2007fp lcd panel is a 6 bit(16.2 million colors) or a 8 bit (16.7million colors) lcd. But with a 6 bit panel, to get those 16.2 million colors, they do something called dithering, or something else. And they can actually only produce like 256 000 colors, I don't know exactly...Dithering is where.........say the lcd is trying to produce an image of an apple. It will use 1 shade of red, then to get another shade of red, it will mix it with other shades of reds, to try to replicate what the color should be. But it might result in that banding issue you are talking about?
