I tried Colgate toothpaste myself, no luck. I heard Brasso is specifically for removing scratches on ipod, and apparently they work for cellphone screens too.

Where can i find Brasso in the GTA?

would it be at hardware stores like home depot? i've actually never heard of the stuff.

I think any home hardware shop will have some, since it's used to polish brass and silver.

However you might be out of luck. The screen is likely not scratched, but only the plastic shell (that's part of the case).
See if you can pick up a shell of a phone off ebay for a few bucks, and swap out the internals.

Anf put a protective plastic screen on it in the future so you don't have to keep terting to get scratches out all the time.

I would suggest an acrylic based polish or creme. I have used crystal-glo bike polish as it has acrylic based fillers and they are great for the car paint, windows to repel dust/dirt, great for TV screens and cell phone screen to fill in light scratches and make cleaning oils from skin easier.

Bike products are sold at Harley Davidson stores or your local cycle store (Cycle World in Toronto area)

What are you talking about? I've never seen Brasso at any of these stores, there's no reason any of them would ever have a reason to stock it.

Brasso isn't an electronics cleaning substance. It's a metal polish.

OP, you can find it at any Wal Mart, hardware store, Zellers, most grocery stores. Use it VERY sparingly, it's powerful stuff

Turtle wax isn't an abrasive, it's a wax. You'd need to use something such as a micro buffing compound.

Turtle wax could work, but it would only disguise the cracks and not actually work on buffing them out. With wax, eventually they would return.

they sell brasso at dominion, one is for copper/brass, while the other is for silver/stainless steel. it doenst work on cellphones, dont botehr.
also depending on how bad the screen is scratched, just try liquid lens, that stuff tehy show on tv that is advertized to fill in scratches on your eyeglass lens? if not, just buy a new lens and protect it with a screen protector.

Just go for it, you cant go wrong with Brasso.

BTW, I made a screen protector for my w810 with tape, the ones with 1.5 inch wide. All I did was pull out about 3 inches length of tape quickly (so I don't get the lines in between). THen I carefully applied it on, while using a credit card to slowly smooth and push it down, to avoid bubbles. Then just cut off the excessive tape. THe result is AMAZING, its like there's nothing on top unless I look really close.

Now the reason I mentioned that is perhaps people might want to try this instead of paying like $10 for a screen protector at store. Don't worry, if you screwed up, you can simply remove the tape and there's no sticky stuff left on the screen (infact it takes the dust away). And munsifn, after you clear the scratches on your ipod, you can do the same to it too, just take a longer piece of tape of course.

which one should I use for my ipod? the copper/brass one, or the silver/stainless one? and how much should I apply? do I just put some onto a cloth and wipe away?

I'd really appreciate an answer to this, my ipod has a few scratches I'd love to remove. pm me if you can.
