Ok I recently installed a 1gig stick in my laptop and after that my laptop been over heating. Currently running at a temp of 72C. I sometimes use this laptop for gaming ie: Battlefield 2, Sims 2 etc.. but while playing battlefield 2 it over heated to a point where it restarted itself. My laptop is the Asus W3V which is known to have heat problems already and this memory stick made it worst. What I'm asking is, is there different methods of cooling down the laptop?

Is it overheating to the point that it shuts down.. or is this overheating just something in your head?
Many people think their laptops get too hot.
Does your fan come on? Does it stay on? Is there good airflow coming out from the fan? Age of laptop? Last time it was cleaned?

It only over heats when I'm in games, but in general its way to hot, when I first got the laptop it runs at 60-64C. Sometimes I have to take my hands off the keyboard area because it got to hot. I only had this laptop for a year. and yes the fan is still running. I havent really cleaned it out yet, cant really take the whole laptop apart. I tried before but couldnt figure how to take the middle part off.

If it's not shutting down from overheating, it's probably fine.
Some laptops just run REAL hot and scare the crap out of their owners. Though when you're playing games, you're running the system at it's peak, so obviously that'd be when it gets the hottest.

Invest in a Laptop cooler or send it to Asus for warranty repair. Complain to them about the problem.

is the laptop completely flat on a surface when you play a game?
try elevating it a bit off, if so, and see if that helps.

You can try underclocking your laptop, i have a friend that did it for his z70va and experienced about a 10 degree difference in temperature. You can also try a laptop cooler, although you probably wont see too much difference in internal temperature, the external temperature should be alot better.
