I currently have the following hardware setup:

- DLINK DI-604 Router
- 2 computer plugged into router
- Anti virus and software firewall on both systems
- Rogers Internet Service

Question I have is does the alpha shield hardware give me better security then what I have and if so how?

The link to their hardware is http://www.alphashield.com/

Thanks

keeep your windows updated, do not forward any unesssary ports to a specific computer, load an anti virus & spyware remover and you will be fine.

Alpha Shield is kind of useless for the home, unless you're not planning on doing any P2P. You've already got a router, which I assume has firewall features. Plus you've got software firewall running too. Are you really that paranoid that you want to increase the level of protection even more?

Alpha Shield probably does give better security, only because it doesn't let anything in or out, but then you might as well not even be wired to the internet. (yes, this is sarcasm)
