Does anyone have one of these? How does it compare to a normal rice cooker?
I need to get a new rice cooker soon and am looking at zojirushi neuro fuzzy cookers, but I see they have a new induction cooking model out and wonder if anyone has tried it or has experience with it. $300 seems like a lot of money for a rice cooker though, I'm wondering if its worth the extra $100 premium over the neuro fuzzy ones...

I want to get this Sanyo one. Is it similar to the one you mentioned? Does anyone know where to buy them?
Thanks kindly!

I have Zojirushi, takes a while to get some rice cooked, but comes out well every time. Not sure about the induction ones, I think they cook faster. If time isn't an issue, just go for whatever works.

Wow!!! $300 for a rice cooker.
Before you fork out this kind of money, ask yourself what's wrong with the rice you cook today. Does it come out uneven? Is it raw & un-edible? Does it have burnt patches of hard brown rice at the bottom that you don't like?
If the rice you cook today is fine, why spend $$$$$ for something you don't need? This is like selling ice maker to Eskimos.
If you do have that kind of extra money to spend and the rice you cook is fine with regular rice cookers, why not get a rice cooker that cooks more than just rice? Tatung makes super durable rice cookers (my parents still uses one that's over 25 years old) and the newer models have steamer attachments --> http://www.tatung.com/appliance/english/cooker/ricecooker2_en0412.htm (at bottom of page) for making steamed buns or bamboo leaf sticky rice or dim sum.

I have a Zojirushi neuro fuzzy cooker, and the rice comes out great each time -- evenly cooked everywhere. Judging from the reviews here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/B000246GSY/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/103-3574083-0939043?ie=UTF8&customer-reviews.sort%5Fby=-SubmissionDate&n=284507), the induction heating technology may be even better...but I don't know if you'd necessarily notice the difference compared to the non-induction Zojirushi.
(They're so much cheaper south of the border, and it's hard to find a discount locally... :( )

Regarding a rice cooker, a Korean rice cooker is the best in the world. You can buy one in the Korean town around Christie.
I don't know the exact brand name. But if the prices are similar, any Korean cooker is better than Zojirushi (Japanese brand). A few decades ago, Zojirushi made the best rice cooker, but things have changed.
Zojirushi cooker is not bad, I mean, it is just not the best.
