I just got a new 2007 Toyota Matrix XR FWD Automatic with B Package for $28100. I'll get another $500 back later for the grad program which brings it down to $27600. Do you think I got a good deal? It MSRP for $29982 I think.

That thing is already underpowered, and you want Automatic "and" FWD as well? You better time it with a Sun Dial rather than a stop watch.

I'd get the 2007 Mazda3 Sport instead. It's cheaper, faster, drives better and has a lot more toys. They just added standard side curtain air bags for '07. At least take one out for a spin. You will NOT be sorry.

Didn't ask for an opinion on the car, just opinion on the price. Thanks for your comment anyways.

Exactly...
So was $28100 a good deal? how much is the margin for a car like this anyway?

Same engine as the corolla and is soon to be redesigned.
At that price, personally id rather get an 06 impreza.

I agree with you, but then it's apples and oranges. The matrix gets a lot better mileage, if that's what you are into

I think Matrix and Vibe do not come in AWD anymore.
So can't compare with Subaru.
In terms of price, it's not bad for the Matrix.

I think the Subaru has more torque.
But I'd go with the wagon.

an imprezza is even smaller inside, worse on gas and lower resale and lower quality interior.

they arent even comparable vehicles

Sounds like a good deal. And a good car too. Congrats.

Yes, pls ignore those ppl telling you it ain't fast enough, blah, blah, blah. We all stop at 60km/hr or 100km/hr anyways.

Or else you are simply speeding and being an idiot that can cause more car accidents, hence driving up EVERYONE's insurance rates and causing good cars to have ridiculous insurance rates. STupid SOBs.... hope they drive fast and crash into a wall and kill themselves..... oops did I say that out loud?

Toyota Matrix, 07... good car !! Looks nice, I esp. love their new redesigned tail lights, like the RX lexus ones.

The reason I'm asking is because I didn't shop very much when I got the car. I just needed a car fast since my office is moving to Brampton soon. So I basically just went to a 3rd party dealership that my friend told me was good, and worked out the deal there at once.

And I agree, depends on your needs and what you wanna get, Subaru has more torque, but Matrix is better on gas. You can't really compare apples to oranges. I have to drive from North York to Brampton everyday, so Toyota is a better choice for me. But if I don't have to drive to work and only use my car on the weekend, I'll definitely think about other cars.

Its a good car, no doubt, the engine will last for ages, looks good too. I considered it before.

If its almost the same as the 06 one:
Just that no side air bags on it turned me off.
ABS i believe you get on the higher models only.
And the higher int rate will make up for gas.
AWD and 3 side impact beams is nice too.

Not really apples and oranges, more like orange and grapefruit ;)
