Hey all

I keep hearing about these HAWKINS CHEEZIES that are supposedly so popular out west, but I can't find them anywhere here in the GTA

Someone in another thread said they sold them at Shoppers Drug Mart but I looked carefully here tonight and they don't sell them.

Where can I pick some of these up in the GTA? Which stores/supermarkets sell them?

Thanks!

strange

people are always telling me (online) how good they are, and they're a "canadian favorite" etc

i'd still like to try them i guess, but i'm definitely not as excited now :/

i was never a fan of cheezies... then about 2yrs ago i had some hawkins, and they were so good (yes salty) that i cant seem to get enough of them now!

they are way better than those soft cheezies. dont let what others have said sway you... they are awesome! :)

Hawkins Cheezies are really dense and crunchy. I prefer them to cheese balls and cheese puffs. They're not cheese puffs at all. Frito-Lay Cheetos are similar too thin but they do taste cheesier.

Hawkins are made in Belleville, Ontario but they can't manage to get any shelf space in GTA supermarkets because Frito-Lay and Humpty Dumpty provide grocers with incentives (kick-backs almost) to get preferential shelf space for all their SKUs.

Do a search on RFD. Hawkins Cheezies has been discussed many times as have been Old Dutch chips. They're all hard to find in the GTA.

I have been addicted to Hawkins Cheezies since I was a kid in Western Canada. I live in Bermuda now and have my friends mail me a care package full of Cheezies as well as Eatmores and Coffee Crispsa couple times a year. There are a lot of Canadians living in Bermuda and so whenever anyone goes off island back home, I always give them 20 bucks to bring me back my beloved junk food.

major oldschool bump..

for the record, they are readily available at SDM any time... in 2 sizes

the person above was correct in calling them "salty"... its just too much for me, I haven't bought them since my original locating of them

I do like their crunch but as many of you have said, they are too salty.

Since this thread was started, Old Dutch bought Humpty Dumpty so we have Old Dutch in Ontario grocery stores now.

These are also available in WalMart.... located in the Chip Aisle, directly below the Frito Lay 18-count & 28-count multipack products (beside the Tositos)

Try the Nativa organic cheese puffs.
Those are made with real cheese and not that salty.
they are around $3-3.50 and are lower in salt the package says 105mg sodium per 50 grams and 12 grams fat per serving.

They are made in the US also.

For crunchier cheesie like snacks Bearitos makes one.
I see it at the bigger loblaws stores.
