Welcome to 2004....
Civic Hatch isn't even in North America...what makes you think type R is coming?

The interior looks like something out of a spaceship. It's pretty funky, gotta give props to Honda for being daring. The exterior styling looks pretty clean as well, I see a little CRX in the rear..mm..yummy! Bring back the CRX!

That car seems too advanced for our tiny Canadian market. It looks like a 2010 model lol...even though it isn't.

But the Civic looks more badass than the Benz.

Love those triangular exhausts..I wish we got these euro models. Hell I am still waiting for the Euro Ford Focus (especially the STI).

the Si Coupe is as close as Type-R we're going to get.... they share the same powerplant.

I thought the ricers had more dollars than cents?

I thought the Focus had a ST model and not a STI ...

Really? The Type-R has the same motor? With the same output too? In that case I'd say the Type-R is a little underpowered compared to it's upcoming competitors (250-some-odd hp/280lb*ft MazdaSpeed3 and 300hp/260lb*ft SRT4 Caliber)...
As for the styling, I have mixed views on it. Love the red illumination in the interior (way better than the blue) as well as most of the interior styling (the steering wheel is way too busy and bulky though). Exterior looks good as well, for the most part...

These posts are great. A person with 3 posts who just posts pics with nothing to say except in the topic that it's confirmed hahaha.
BTW, these pics are at least a year old.

It looks like a plastic toy. There's a limit to how much hipness I can stand in a car.
The interior is A+ though.

actually these pics are recent. The old ones show a yellow TypeR when it is still a concept. I believe this Red TypeR is a production model.
still too bad that it's not coming to America.

I went to England in May 2006, and my cousin had the exact same model as posted above but in dark grey. She said she had bought it in january 2006. Sickest civic I had ever seen.

I dunno. I like the North American version coupe more. The North American version is probably the best Civic designs since the 92-95 model lineup.
Does the Euro has LSD as well like in North America? :D

That's the regular European Civic, which has been out for a while now, this is the European Type R. And as was said above, these pictures are new, they are of the official release car not the concept.

does this civic have a clutch or is it using the dual-clutch system?
prefer single clutch, but i like the car nonetheless. will they produce a base model of the hatchback? "type r" sounds expensive.
