Just wanted to let other ford/focus owners know about this sweet deal imo, I do not want any posts about any other makes/models in this thread and the domestic/import crap that pollutes many other decent posts.
Just finished the deal last night. Picked up the last remaining 2006 Focus from the Meadowvale dealership last night.
Cost was $2000 down and $338/mth for 60mths @ 0% financing. $22280 total including everything. Got the x-plan pricing, I know that has been mentioned before on other threads. Dealer would not budge below this price, he said he's going to make $125 commission and the dealership about $400.
Prior to this, the best price we were quoted with $2k down was $350/60mth for an 07 demo. Everywhere else had been ~$365.
Oh yeah, we picked up the ZX5 in black, no other options on it, but it was auto tranny.
Being the rfder that I am, I tried unsuccessfully to convince her to get a used one for around $10k, but it didn't work. Something about paying interest on a loan didn't agree with her too well, and she's got a 'new car is better' mentality also.
Kinda ironic though that today Ford is announcing more layoffs and restructuring..I would appreciate comments on how people think this will affect the future of this company.

That's not bad. You might have been able to save even more, though... If you purchase from the US, the ZX5 SES w/ auto transmission is US$14,210 including destination charge (source (http://www.carsdirect.com/build/style?make=FO&modelid=85&zipcode=14201&trim_groups=2006hatchback,)). So that's less than CAD $16k before tax, or about CA$18,000 all inclusive. And Ford USA warranty is good in Canada, too.

Yeah, I've been looking at another car in the US to import, although in this case it wasn't an option for her to consider. For the the extra work involved in importing a car would be worth it..
Anybody get a good deal on an '07 ZX5?

I'm not even going to bring it up with her right now, as its past since the car is already bought. It is something that others have taken advantage of and saved many thousands of dollars, although personally for this model I would have bought a used one since they depreciate so much.
In all likelyhood we will be keeping the car at least until it is paid off. It rides quite nice and has many good features for the price paid. The post-2001 models have been great buys for the most part, since they got the recall issues worked out.
Too bad the european models aren't available here with a ford badge. We didn't want to go too much above what we're currently paying, and so the Mazda3 was unfortunately too pricey(in Canada!) to consider.

I bought an '05 Focus ZX3 SES with a decent option list for $12500USD inclusive last year, considerably less than the Canadian counterparts...
Some serious deals to be had with the US versions, most times the standard option list is better as well.

Now that our dollar is near par with the US the prices shouldn't vary so wildly. I guess if they can squeeze a few ounces of extra blood out of us they'll do it. Plus we get hammered with 2 taxes on top as a bonus.

Congrats on the new car !
The 06 Zx5 shows $19,449 on the ford website. That includes AC Tax, Destination and -$3500 in delivery allowance.
$19,449 + GST/PST = $22171.86.
How did you end up paying more than this with the X-Plan ?
Did you buy rustproofing or something ? Also, with the X-Plan they must waive their "non-negotiable" $299 Ford dealer admin fee.
I recently bought a car with the X-Plan too, it was still less than the APA quote I got.
