I guess this is a warm deal at most. I picked up the KV32FS120 for 479.99 @ The Brick 8 months ago.

Btw This is probably the sharpest CRT TV. Even though it doesn't support HD its still a pleasant screen to the eyes. Also I got S-Video cables for XBOX360 and it looks great on that TV. :) :)

Are you sure it isn't 5X the credit points? HBC seems to only offer 5X credit bonus points now.

So 2000*[50+(25*5)]=2000*175=350,000 for regular members and
2000*[100+(25*5)]=2000*225=450,000 for gold members?

Is this sale instore or online or both?

We're in the market for a 27" tv non-HD and non $500+ and I'm thinking the Sony would be a nice little compromise for getting a less expensive tv but not sacraficing the digital image. As it stands we're using an *ancient* Panasonic 27" that's slowly beginning to die (text difficult to read, poor lighting & shadows, etc.)
I'm guessing it'd be worth spending the extra $$$ on a Sony rather than grabbing a cheaper RCA or something.

Thoughts?

Picked up the 40" LCD Bravia, nice unit, they honoured the 15% off price off the regular $2499, but some TVs were marked down only 10%, the price made my girlfriends mom pick one up too... all in all VERY happy with the purchase.

Picture is soso without fiddling with the settings, after fiddling with the settings and watching DVDs though component, picture looks very solid, smooth and clear....SD picture is less than satisfactory though, but I was expecting that from a large LCD. Visions has the TV for $2488, plus free DVP NS75J upconverting DVD player which has gotten great reviews (Value $139.00).

In conclusion its a great TV with warm colour, and great PQ when using a upconverting source. Can't wait to hook it up in 720 or 1080i...

The matress industry has done a great job at confusing the buyers by selling so many different types, names, features of matresses. It virually impossible to compare "apples to apples". I think you just have to set a budget and find the best feeling one to you, for that price. Much like a computer -- you could spend thousands of dollars, however you just draw a line somewhere and get your best value you can for that.

"just $300" for bulb + tax is almost 350$

and lcd/plasma TVs are almost in the same price range as RPTV
I don't judge nobodies decision but I would advise ppl to think twice (I have a few friends that are enjoying their RPTVs)
I returned my RPTV more than a year ago and it was good move even at that time (IMO)

My Widescreen RPTV is 4 years old ( Toshiba 57HX83 ) and I still has better picture than many new TV's I see out on the market. What I do find lacking on my RPTV is the ability to plug in PC to it and the fear of playing FPS games on PS2 for concern over burn-in. One benefit -- the technology has been proven and most bugs worked out. Not concerns over rainbow effects, screen door effects, etc or concerns over "will my plasma gas lose intensity over time".

Thanks op.

I went to the Bay and saw the 32" LCD model (HDTV) new one for this year model # KLV32S200A at $1899.99 - 15% (i.e. -$285 approx).

I thought this was a good deal...

Though I prefer SONY and expect to pay a premium of, say, 15% on top of some other brands...

Yesterday, there was another post about Leon's Furniture selling some kind of RCA 32" LCD HDTV reg. $1600 and sale $1000.

ANother post about Bestbuy's $799 32" HDTV.

Can someone tell me if we might expect a price correction/drop on the SONY 32" LCD HDTV to make it more inline with available pricing on competitive models? (example reguilar price becomes $1500-1600 instead? and of course lower with 10% or 15% sales).

Thanks...

Picked up the 32" Acer LCD TV and it looks pretty sweet. 849 which includes an HDMI port is a pretty good deal.

Acer 32' LCD TV:

999-15%=849 Very nice look :) looks like the new Toshiba. :)

Any opinions re: this 32" vs. the Westinghouse from Best Buy or the Viewsonic from Costco?

For anyone interested, here's the user's manual for the 42" LCD:

http://csd.acer.com.tw/acer/URMUL1.NSF/1af87a750eeeb70f0825628f006e0bfc/97bf66b1c895b432482571c5000bf62c?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,AT4220A

According to the manual, this model has one DVI, one HDMI, one VGA, two component, two S-Video, and two composite connections... Some may prefer more HDMI and/or DVI connections...

Shneebs.

p.s. This manual covers the AT3220A, AT3720A and the AT4220A...

I can bet that you will see that model in that price range very soooon since 1080p models are getting released and LCD prices are going down...
Are you sure that you don't want anything bigger for that money?

I just received my acer LCD 42" last night after I ordered it during the Bay days.
The setup was easy, I found couple issues though.
First of all, the channel auto scan (shaw cable) gets stuck half way when it finds a channel that doesn't have a very clear signal.

Secondly but most importantly, when I hook it up with my RCA DRC257 hd upconversion dvd player and set to HDMI 1080i mode, the whole picture shited downwards. The part that reaches out of the bottom is replaced onto the top of the screen.
I used this DVD player on a different LCD TV (Polaroid 37") and didn't have this issue.

I have phoned acer tech support and they suggest either to have one come in for repair or do a replacement in the store.

I am just wondering if anyone has similar issues with any other TV and dvd players.

Sorry to bump an old thread...but can anyone verify this deal existed. Are there scans of the flyer available? Was it a flyer or a newspaper ad?

Also, a tip: after setting up a gift registry at the Bay, for a year after your event date, add anything to your registry, buy it and they'll give you 10% off PLUS the last sale price. Hence, if this deal was active I'm thinking the 42" Acer could be even more attractive.

Cheers!
