http://www.eye.net/eye/issue/issue_01.26.06/features/torontosbestfoodanddrink.php says Future Bakery. But Dufflet (http://www.dufflet.com/html/freshCollection/sour_cream.asp) and Senses (http://www.senses.ca/cakes/) are also good choices.

Best cheesecake I ever had was at The Old Mill in Ancaster.
Lindy's NY Cheesecake, wrapped in phyllo, then baked.
Served with fresh (warmed) berry coulis.
Yum !!

Carnegie Deli in NYC. Just up from the Ed Sullivan Theater near Carnegie Hall. The definitive NY cheesecake.

Best cheesecakes I had was in Montreal. I think it was called Fran's Cheesecakes. aaaahhhhh.. memories. :D Oh yeah, we're "talking" about Toronto. Hmmm.. let me see... Costco sells a huge box of 4 different flavours of cheesecake and they're all sliced. Yummy! :)

rosebud: how does posting "fart" help our OP?
I've always liked Petit(e) Paris in Mississauga for cakes of any kind, incl. cheesecake.

Dufflect cheesecakes are pretty awesome, they are the ones that are ordered at work(I work at Second Cup), pricey, at $45~ a cake, but wow is it good.
As well, I found the cheesecake at Kelsey's really good, I don't often eat cheesecake(just grab a bite from a certain friend who orders it), and usually she can't finish it, so the guys just ravage the leftovers haha. Where was I, oh right. The cheesecake there I found was better then Dufflet, though try it first and see if you like it :)

Sams Club has the plain NY style cheesecake, a Godiva chocolate cheesecake (sells for close to $20 but really good!), the double chocolate cheesecake shown in the picture and then a sampler cheesecake (different flavours..i think it has a strawberry in it but i think its a strawberry swirl not like the strawberry gel)

Thanks! I was able to get a plain one from Sam's Club. Now does anyone know where to buy strawberry topping? I'm sure there are different "types" and "quality" so any suggestions would be great:)

Great! Glad to hear you were able to buy plain one @ Sam's Club. How much is it now? It's been a long time since I bought it and I totally forgot how much it was.

I personally didn't pick it up (I don't have a membership but my friend does) I believe she told me on the phone that it was $17.99 for the cake and it was divided into 12 pieces. Hope this helps :D
So does anyone know where I can buy strawberry topping??? Bulk Barn perhaps? I wonder IF they have it and IF it's any good???

Make your own strawberry topping. It's easy, and will EASILY beat anything you buy in terms of taste. I always do this strawberry picking season. I pick the ripest strawberries I can find (super sweet, and so fragile that they bruise/rip if picking them wrong). Then right after, I make strawberry sauce using Certo mix from the grocery store. It's the BEST topping I've ever had, and I find that a lot (if not all) of bakeries (even when in season), don't have as good ingredients as you would get if you went and picked them yourself.
Plus it freezes/thaws well... so I make enough for the whole year.
And for the cheesecake itself, this recipe is awesome:
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chantals-New-York-Cheesecake/Detail.aspx
I follow the instructions to the key, except I add a big pan of water on a rack underneath the cheesecake pan (gets rid of cracking). Do not open to oven at all until 6 hrs is up!
As for buying cheesecake, I've tried tons... none are as good as making it yourself. Maybe Toronto has better bakeries, but in Ottawa, I've turned to making my own stuff.
