This is a Honda Prelude Engine, I honestly dont know what kind of engine it is because Im not too familiar with engines. I picked it up from a friend of mine who was planning on swapping it into his older Prelude but said it didnt fit because it was a newer model engine. He since sold the car and it's been sitting in his garage. Since he is moving to USA he needed to get rid of it. I hope the photos help if the photos arent enough please contact me with your questions. I will update as soon as I get more info. The engine has 40k on it.

i must apologize, but that's not a prelude engine. that appears more like an accord engine. furthermore the newer engines should look similar to this:

some preludes share the same f22a engine that is in the accords
they can share, for example you can take the accord engine [f22,f23]and put it into a prelude [ perhaps you didn't like the power and would like to save gas an pump 87], and vice versa you can but the prelude engine [h22] into an accord, for a power swap, but originally the f22/23 is for the accord and the h22 is for the prelude and euro-R [but i could be wrong wrt the euroR]
even the older preludes from pre 1992 preludes use the b20 engine [not the crv, but they share the same code] which is different than that what is shown.

but i'm not complaining, for $300 you might be getting exactly what you paid for

lol thanx. Like I said... I didnt get this engine for myself. A friend of mine purchased it with the intention to put it into his Prelude, he sold the prelude before he got a chance to install it. Also he mentioned that it wouldnt fit. I picked it up from him ( I have storage space, he doesnt) and I just put it on the market to sell. I have like no idea about the engine only what he told me. He purchased it from a place that sells engines somewhere in ontario. It'd be very helpful if you guys told me a way I can find out exactly what kind of engine it is. Are there any particular markings I should be looking for? I tried searching the thing top to bottom but could barely find anything!

hrm it might be on this sticker that is in this pic

the engine name should also engraved on the engine in small letters/numbers. but that is kind of hard to see if you dont know the exact location and can be covered with dirt and stuff.
if i remember correctly it should be in the area that i pointed out in this pic

hope you find it

look around the edge where the tranny meets the engine, there should be a code stamp somewhere, what year prelude did he want to put this in?

F22 can be found in a 92 Prelude S model.
