Well there wern't that many votes last week, just enough to put the Ford Edge as the first seriously un-cool car on the RFD Cool Wall. Here's the update;

Is the Mazda RX-8 a cool car? Are rotary engines cool, or does the name "wankel rotary engine" make it un-cool? Voting will end next saturday.

Mazda's are great, i used to drive an mx-6 way back in the day. They're just not cool wall material, unless you want to argue the revolutionary side of that particular model. Still, not worthy.

The rotary doesn't make the car "un-cool" it's the 3rd door and no turbo's. I know it's not an RX-7 replacement, but I can still dream.

ya, if you don't like it, give me a couple cars that you woul like to see voted on. I'm not telling you these are all hot cars, just cars that people have different opinions on. Some people loved the ford edge, but more thought it was seriously uncool. Some (myself included) love the XK, others thought it wasn't good at all. Get the idea?

I've got 1 for next week lined up, but other nominations are good.

But does maintenance, reliability, or recalls have an impact on the Cool factor? I'd say many of the coolest cars in the world aren't very reliable at all.

I don't know if you watch Top Gear, but if you don't then you should. The idea behind the cool wall isn't to put up all the good cars of all time (yes the 300sl would be in there, so would the porsche 356), the idea is to place the current cars. Like the new VW concept car; some people love it, others think it's really ugly.

Man, I love everything about this car except the front fenders. I absolutely HATE how they flare out like that. Seriously if they would fix the freaking front fenders I would be in love.
