Lion city obviously refers to the Merlion in Singapore and explains the Indonesian and Malaysian and Peranikan dishes and Hakka influences in that menu...

Emerald restaurant is one of the best for dim sum. Their regular dinner menu is decent. Don't get the fish.

I would never recommend Sam Woo to anyone after several bad experiences there.

Happy Garden is pretty good though I haven't been there in a while. Summit Garden is really good (though very over-priced).

Check out The Perfect Kitchen. It's near Summit Garden. Address is 3075 Ridgeway Drive. Use Yahoo Maps.

My other recommendation would be Deluxe Noodles Chinese Restaurant. It is located at 4040 Creditview Road (Sushi Tei plaza). It is fairly priced, and is VERY good at the same time.

For fast eatery type - Noodle Wok (on Burnhamthorpe near Mavis). It used to be Noodle Delight.

I love noodle wok..most of their dishes, anyways. Always fast & tasty, sometimes greasy!

Summit Garden is good for dimsum, although tends to get very crowded with long lineups if you go during peak times.

There's another place, forget the name, but its at the corner of confederation/central pkwy in the same building as the Golden Turtle vietnamese restaurant. I haven't been there in awhile but it was super cheap dimsum!

I like Macy's on Burnhampthrope where Office Place is. That place serves up HK style western food and HK style on the street type. Personally, I like it. =).

As for dim sum, there is this place next to Costco Mall thingy on Winston Churchill that is really nice. It's a small place. I wonder if its still kicking.

However, be warned. Service at both places aren't the best.

There's this place in Doubletree hotel near the airport. It's called Grand Chinese Cusine. It's good in both taste and service but of course with the price attached to it. It's not too expensive though and good dim sum. I've been there a bunch of times. It's certainly not as expensive as lai wah heen.

I went there for my graduation dinner as well and the food was good too.

Damn...knowing the owners of the restaurants personally makes me biased I guess, but they've already been stated. Personally I like would've recommended Perfect Kitchen (tucked away where Costco; now The Brick) or Summit Garden. However, Summit Garden does beat out Perfect Kitchen in terms of quality of food.

My personal favourite is Macy's on Burnhamthorpe. So I second that. It's between Creditview and Mavis by the Red Lobster, Office Depot so it shouldn't be too hard to miss. Actually, I was there on Sunday even :-0

Summit Garden sounds good, thanks for rec! My husband and I have been looking for a long time for a really good Chinese restaurant in Mississauga.

Does anyone know if they have a website or a copy of their menu online?

If not, what do you recommend we order there?

Not many good restaurant in Missauga, but I think Emrald is the most decent one in terms of food, price and location etc.

Sam Woo, I used to go there all the time, but 3 times they surprised me with insect in the food - sometimes in congee, sometimes in boiled vegetables.

I was there last night. The menu was pricey nevertheless it was a chinese new year menu. There was only my family and I ( no other tables ). The waiters took their own sweet time. Waited for 25 minutes before the dishes arrive. The waitress/waiter are busy chatting. When we are done. We ask for the bill ) Took about a minute to get a waiter to collect our bill and a minute to get them to change. When we left they didn't even greet us goodbye or Happy New year. We got an unwelcomed kind of feeling/respond. We would never go there again.

Sucks for you as that isn't normal behavior for the staff. Or maybe because I know the owner and get VIP'd :cheesygri
