Anyone use a Topsider or Oil extractor?

Hi, just wondering if anyone in GTa area know where I can get buy a topsider or oil extractor? Will be used to change engine oil. Any experience on brands or models would help.

I got mine to change oil in my jetta. I got it from a shop on lakeshore in etobicoke here you can buy supplies for boats. I think it was $60 and I am never getting under a car to do an oil change again :)

Sorry I cannot be more specific to a place but just phone around boat service places or stores. The one I use is Pela 6000 oil extractor.

I use the pela 6000 (as shown in your link)
Works great for me. I actually get more oil out of the car then just letting it drain. I didn't like doing a normal drain, because the car is too low, and I would have to jack it up to get under it. This is much easier, and safer too

arf so how the hell do you change your filters if you dont get under your car? Or are your cars that easy to get too...

Either way this item would be good for transmission fluid change, not too much for engine oil.

Funny. I was literally about to post a similar question. Oil filters on my own cars are above the oil pan and easy to get to from the wheel well.

Does anyone know where I can get an electric oil/fluid pump?? I've seen them in the states for about $25 US but can't find any here.

Not bad, what do you do, snake these down your dip stick hole and suck it up from there?

$47 isn't bad, considering all the mess you have to go through with taking off the filler plug, and catch pan.. (And what a catch pan is $20 or so?)

Yep. They go through the dipstick as far as I know. If you can get to your oil filter easily this is by far the easiest way to do an oil change.

The Pela uses vaccuum. You only pump it a few times, and it does the rest itself.

Well you know these ****** german cars have some thought put into their design lol.... In my tdi jetta I can change the oil now wearing a suit and wont get my hands dirty. The filter sits on top and you take it out once you vacuum the oil out thru the dipstick.

Thanks for all the input. Ordered one from this link. Came to 63 with tax and shipoping. Not a bad price. this is how mercedes change their oil apparently. Anyway, the filter is ontop of the engine on our car so now i dont' even have to bend over to change my oil. Can't wait. :0
