help! i think my shock/spring is broken...

recently...i just took my car to the shop for the timing belt replacement...they replaced all of the belt for $550 (timing belt, a/c belt, power steering belt, etc...)...is that a reasonable price??

anyway...after they replaced my belts...I noticed something else is wrong with the car...everytime I go over a speed hump or a bad road...the rear shock or suspension keep making a sqeaking noise...what could caused this? do you think it has something to do with the shop i took to? because I never have this problem before...until i take it to the shop...have u ever noticed that everytime we take our car to the shop...they fix one thing and mess up something else??

i guess my main question are

What could cause this? (btw...I am driving a 1998 Acura EL with 136,000km if that matter)
and how much would it cost to have this fix?

If your springs are broken you'll notice that your car rides super low, heck you probably couldn't even drive the car if they're broken.

If your shocks are broken, you'll notice that over a bump, your car will keep bouncing up and down alot.

Mmmm...thanks...i don't have that symptoms yet...just the squeaking noise...what do you think that could cause this?

Could be a ball joint, they get squeeky/rattley sometimes.

So many people belive this. I remember when a customer came in for tires and then claimed that their radio didn't work when they left. Two totally unrelated things, yet the the customer insisted that we broke it. http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/crazy.gif

And another time, a customer claimed that WE broke thier seatbelt. Honestly, No tech will use a seatbelt driving cars in and out of a shop, yet the customer insisted that we broke it.http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/drunk.gif

Things happen on their own, and it most likely just coincidence that it started squeaking the same time you brought it to the shop. But if you're paranoid, bring it back to the shop and ask them to check out what causes the squeak.
