It's about time we got a fashion forum here.

I'll start. You should never wear track pants outside of your residence, or the gym. This goes double for those sweat pants with words stitched on the arse like U of T, and TRIPLE for those that say "Cutie", "Sweet Cheeks" or "Honey".

Let the rants begin!

Some items of the list below will be quite controversial as these are often seen as acceptable by the general public.

- Button-down collars.
- Popped collars
- Shirt+Tie, no jacket.
- BAPE
- Striped shirts*
- Abercrombie and Fitch**
- Jeans at the gym
- Kappa at the gym
- Kappa anywhere
- Brand-name full-set (jacket + pants) track suits.

Jeans at the gym? Kidding right? That's not a faux pas, that's just stupid. Kind of like inline skaters who wear jeans. Ugh, I can't imagine a worse fabric to get sweaty in. I don't care if you just got off work, bring a change of clothes!

Yeah well the gym I go to is part of a public swimming pool, so its not one of those private membership gyms. Because of this a lot of times people go there just to dick around, taking up space on the benches, and using the freeweights by laying them on the ground beside the bench they're sitting at while they're talking to their friends about contemplating buying a body-kit for their new ricer civic their parents bought them.

Now that was a rant.

I like striped shirts. They are better than plain shirts if you're not wearing a tie. adding a bit of detail to something goes a long way than ultra plain.

also they can be worn casually or to work. very versatile.

Better not let Cruel_Angel, or the other BAPE fanboys see that. Even though next week/month/year he'll be all "BAPE is so out..."

What wrong with jeans and inline skating? it makes perfect sense as denim provides atleast some protection against road rash.

Ugg boots, chunky black shoes (pilgrim shoes), boxy womens' suits, and females who wear too many of the seasons trends together.

Any designer bag that has been faked has now been cheapened.. .even if its authentic.

Hmmm I can't think of any faux pas for guys. Must be because you guys are so endearing!... even when you wear your socks with your sandals.

Ok, I have quite a few...

Guys who wear track pants with one leg pulled up..looks real "gangsta tough"..no actually it looks really ghetto!

Also, guys who wear jeams with one pant leg cuffed up, timberland or those yellow construction boots and the laces totally undone...looks so stupid!

Fake designer bags- most look too overplayed thesedays.

Women's shoes that have crazy platforms, I remember people used to wear those when I was in high school.
It just looks retaded on women/girls who are 25 and up...

Lol, "cougars" or older women who go trolling the bars wearing leapard prints.
I saw that alot last summer and it was really funny.

Also girls/women who go out in groups and try to pretend like they are the people from Sex and the City...just so annoying!

Also guys who wear too tight turtleneck sweaters looks really funny!

What is really funny also is those 14 year old guys who overgel their hair and totally wear too much Calvin Klein perfume and try to pick up girls on th e bus..just too funny!

One of the most uncomfortable feelings in the world is being hot and sweaty and wearing denim. It's not a fabric that allows for a good movement. I find it impractical, and rather silly looking. If road rash concerns you, there's always knee and elbow pads.

Most guys I see wearing jeans while skating are doing so bare chested (and it looks like they wax their chests as well!), so I don't 100% buy the road rash excuse :)

When is the last time you saw me pushing Bape around here? Besides, the reason Bape is "out" is because people like you know about it. When people like me were wearing it 5+ years ago, it was pretty cool. Besides, who wants to take fashion advice from people who probably can't even dress themselves. Here is a faux pas for you, don't take fashion advice from people on the internet who can't even dress themselves.

warning: lots of hate to follow

Ed hardy - so tacky. so ugly. more nauesating than bape.
Burberry scarves - played out to the extreme
Burberry polos - tacky
Anything from burberry except outerwear - not worth it
Ties with designer logos on them - fashion victim
Suits/outwear with the sleeve tags still on - seriously?
SFAMK and TR jeans - spending 300 on jeans doesn't make you cool if they aren't nice jeans
Unbuttoned buttons on shirt sleeves - especially if you are an ape
Coach anything, especially sneakers - i can't afford real designer accessories, but i have enough money to buy something ugly that is almost cool
d&g - dg is okay, d&g isn't. funny that.
ax - as above, but worse quality

Um,
wasn't that like at least from 5 years ago.
People I know were wearing ti before it was in North America....I guess it's more "mainstream" now

I don't have any new clothing brands to reccomend...well I could but too lazy.
Lots of neat underground brands for new urban stuff....not at the regular mall though.

But...the faux=pas I hate hate hate is when guys and some girs even they wear swear pants and they pull one leg up to the knee and you can see the one sock and they wear the other pant leg down...looks so ********.

TNA or coach canvas bags. Fake chanel earrings. Way way too baggy pants.

Exposing skin on a cold winter day at Pacific mall. i see so many girls who wear tank tops or short skirts (no hose) at Pacific mall. Makes me cold just looking at them.

Wow this thread was bumped from 2006 :o

Anyways, things I can't stand these days:
-Evisu (especially with the gulls running down both legs)
-Affliction/Tapout shirts - all the "bros" and douchebags have them
-Flannels - I don't understand the appeal of these to all the "streetwear" heads...

Just plain tacky:
Older women who dress like they are 15-20 years younger
The lingere tops that people think are club wear. Idiots, they are meant to be worn with a blouse or a jacket.
Showing off your g-string/thong because the pants are too low.
Showing off your bra (straps or the front part)
Those quasi converse shoes and high heel boots
Granny boots
Drawing your eye-brows on (there was a thread on this)
No belt on pants (particulary for guys). Seinfeld used to do that.
I would have to say faux-hawks are getting old
Frosted blonde tips in the hair
White socks with black pants and shoes
Those silly TNA bags or whatever people brand themselves with
Baseball caps without a curve on them. I remember people use to be made fun for this.
Bad tie and dress shirt combo. If you don't have taste, bring a female friend who does.
Those very pointy euro mens shoe
Those hugh weight lifter belts that some ladies wear.
