was dismissed from last job. now looking for new job. if i don't list my last job on my resume, is there any way for them to find out that I worked there? as far as I know, Record of Employment forms are only for EI benefits and cannot be seen by new employers.

If the previous job is not relevant to the job you're applying to, you don't have to mention it or list it at all.

However, if there is a gap in your employment (ie. there is a period of 2 years where you have not been working), then you should be able to explain that during your interview if they ask.

The employer can ask you if you've omitted anything from your application/resume.. if you say you haven't omitted anything and at a later date they find out you lied to them.. well good luck.
