View Full Version : Part Time Jobs for the Holiday Season?

I'm currently in university working part time, but after my exams in late Nov. I was thinking about getting another pt job for the holidays.

Where are the best places to apply for some extra $$$ during Christmas? My avaliablity would be = all day Sunday and Tuesday avaliable and from 8 am - 2 pm on everthing else except Saturday which I work all day at my other job. Are potential employers going to be turned off by my avaliability? I am willing to work once or twice a week for a few hours, and i'm not too picky just don't want to do fast food jobs. I am cash register trained already and have a ton of customer service experiance 4+ years (I work at a grocery store). I was thinking places like EBGAMES or Future Shop would be ideal but please recomend some others and tell any stories from your experiance. Should I start applying now or wait until say October or so?

I've thought about that, but most resturants just hire hot chicks.

Most clothing stores hire seasonal help for the XMas rush. Check The Bay, Sears, and clothing stores. A couple of years ago, I worked at Northern Reflections for their XMas rush. The pay was lousy but the benefits and incentives (ex: get clothing at very low discounted prices) were awesome.

Old Navy hires seasonal help. AND you get their employee discounts ;)

Try and get on as a helper for a contractor in your area. The work will suck (labor and cleanup) but they will pay you a minimum of $12 to $15 an hour, way better than the $8 to $9 max you will make in retail.
