I had a small accident today in a parking lot (Vancouver BC). My car has some scratches and the person who hit me had a dent and some scracthes on his car. We called cops to report since he is blaming on me which is entirely his fault. Cops gave us file no. and stuff told us to report to ICBC.

What i want to know is that I want to get driver's abstract from driver License office. Is there going to be record on my abstract since this is not my fault and small accident?

I am little concerned cause i need to have clear driver's abstract. How (ICBC) deal with these kinds of cases.

Is is avoidable to have a record in Abstract?
Thanks

Driver's abstract only shows driving violations, such as speeding tickets, DUI, etc...

i dont know about BC law, but in ontario parking lot incidents are 50/50 no matter what. Unless you hit a stationary car.

Highway Traffic Act doesn't apply to parking lots, so it doesn't matter what you hit, you won't be ticketed, unless your driving is so bad that the cop hits you with dangerous driving (a criminal offence).

This incident won't show up on your abstract.
