For a long time I have been trying to decide on what kind of monitor to get. After many trips to Futureshop and Best Buy, I have kinda decided on the NEC 90GX2. Theres a link at the bottom for it. Compared to the other monitors that were there, it looked the sharpest and even better with a glossy finish. When I look at the specs its only a 700:1 contrast ratio. Is that good enough? I will be using it mostly for school related stuff and research etc, but I also want to be able to watch dvds on it with near crt quality. I have a NEC CRT which I am very happy with but my dorm requires me to have this tiny desk that doesnt leave much room for my keyboard once my system is set up.

Thanks for any input.
