Thinking of picking up another HD as the prices are pretty cheap. I was checking Canada Computers and they mention the warranty is only for 1 year even though it is OEM ?

I thought OEM Hard drives had longer than 1 yr warranty or am I mistaken? Or does it depend on the make ? I am looking at WD.

Just an example, the link below says warranty for 1 yr.

That's the Canada Computers in-store warranty. If it breaks down within a year you can take it back directly to the store. The OEM warranty you're mentioning is the manufacturer warranty, like this one.

Warranty
Canada Computers' Warranty: 1 Year (First 90 Days Direct Replacement)
Manufacturer's Warranty: 5 Years
