how long does it take for a call back for interview?

just applied for a PT job for service canada?? jobs.gc.ca not sure if that is service canada but anyways, checked my application status and i guess it passed the first screening process. My question is, how long would it usually take for them to call you to do a test or interview???

Don't know if you've received a response.

But after a week, if you don't get a call-back it is always wise to show that you are "proactive" and serious about the job by calling and following up on the application.

Employers like to see that the applicant is serious - Personally, if I'm scanning through applications, I pick out the ones that interest me and then hold on to them and priority is given to the person who calls me to follow up.

You should ask that sort of thing during the interview... Typically with 2 weeks.

For government jobs, it can take longer than usual, sometimes months later.
