Probably because they're gray market watches. If you buy an Omega from them, there's a chance that the serial number will have been removed by a grinder.

I usually get my timex watches from the US here:

http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?storeId=226&catalogId=40000000226&langId=-1

They ship to Canada through borderfree.

Wow... how would you know if its real or fake? Or get a warranty repair on the watch.

I bought a Movado La Nouvelle off them in May.
Lowest price I could find anywhere was $1375 + Tax.

I got it at FargoTime for $1050 taxes in.
I did a check at Movado, its the real deal.

I've bought 4 watches from them on separate occasions - I don't buy them online, I go to their showroom. Their price and service have been great and I've never had any problems with their watches. I would really recommend this store.

I buy my watches on ebay for $30 :P Have had my cvurrent one for 4 years and counting on it's first battery.

I don't need to spend hundreds of dollars for some some small letters in white paint on the face no one will ever be able to read but me.

^^Neither do I.
No white face and no numbers.

I have about 5 watches. Some are for casual, and this Movado is for special events. its really no different than buying nice clothes for a special occasion.

Maybe, just maybe, people pay lots of $ for watches because they like them?
Same reason some people buy an expensive car.

Some people put wings or fartcan mufflers on their cars.
Others buy watercooling for their computers.

None of it is necessary, its mostly for your own desires.

I actually went to their showroom. I was impressed by the outlook of the store. Very professional and huge. It wasn't a outlet (as it seems from their website). It was a typical jewellery, highend watch store.

10 yr warranty on the watch that I purchased.
