Staples has them for $33.96 (http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=88%2C97,306&webid=583028&affixedcode=WW) . I sense a hotter deal with a price match + the $2 off coupon.

The details (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327682) of the Staples coupon can be found in the linked thread.
Also Future Shop has the same spindles for $32.99 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10076422&catid=) so there is another price match opportunity.

And if you order three that would be 39.87, throw in a small filler and use the $10 off $40 coupon and your price is closer to $10 a spindle.
I had been looking for a deal on cheap CDs so I could throw one or two shows on a disc to watch, this is truly tempting though...
Time for a stupid question, if I wanted to order these on-line from Staples how do I get them to price match? Also would they match the price on three of them?

Fill out this form (http://www.staples.ca/ENG/CSR/csr_contact_us.asp?CSREmailAddress=bd%2Epricematch %40orders%2Estaples%2Ecom&Subject=Price+Match&OrderRequiredFlag=No) to price match online. I believe it applies to as many as you want to buy.

makes it about ~$13-14 a spindle :)

u don't have to.... u can fill out the above form, they'll send u a PM quote, u order and reply w/ that PM quote.
only prblm w/ ^that is ur not "guaranteed stock" b/c u have to wait for the PM quote reply; BUT u do know whether or not u got the PM b4 u order.
usually ppl order 1st, then fire off the PM, so ur guaranteed stock, but the thing is, u already bought it at the higher stooples price w/o knowing u got the PM or not.
btw, if history repeats itself, for those who order online, stooples might add $15 next-day s/h fee (since stooples claims that TS doesn't have free next-day s/h like they do... :!: )

That doesnt sound right to me. The $2 can probably only be used once on an order, the $10 coupon requires minimum $40 purchase, and free shipping apparently requires $50 minimum purchase. So you'd need to buy 4 packs:
1. ($33.96 - $16.99) x 110% = $18.67 discount from regular Staples price
2. $33.96 - $18.67 = $15.29 per pack after pricematch
3. $15.29 x 4 packs = $61.16 for free shipping
4. $61.16 - $10 coupon - $2 coupon = $49.16 before tax for 4 packs
5. $49.16 / 4 = $12.29 per pack
You could do $15.29 x 3 packs for $45.87 and buy some filler for $4.13 to get free shipping, but then you'd be buying something for $4.13 that you dont even need or want. But if you did this, then it would be:
4. $50 - $10 coupon - $2 coupon = $38.00 before tax for 4 packs and filler
5. $38.00 - $4.13 filler - $0.99 (weighted allocation to filler of $12 coupons) = $32.88
6. $32.88 / 3 = $10.96 per pack

simply put, all Verbatim DVD+/-R's in NA will be MCC coded, but Mitsubishi doesn't make anymore single layer media in their plants, only DL media. their single layer media is outsourced to other manufacturers that include CMC, Prodisc and Moser Baer.
as for CMC's own media, it isn't that bad.. infact, their higher grade media is pretty good.

i wouldn't say that anymore... i'd say Verbatim CMC made is better than OEM Premium 8x TY media, but Sony MIJ TY is slightly better than Verbatim and Maxell Plus Series is better than both.
afaik, in na, sony is the only brand that uses TY now. i recommend you avoid 16x sony TY and stick with 8x. sony MIJ with the octagonal spacer at the top will be Taiyo Yuden. if you live in a bigger city, it may be harder to find. i know here in SK, theres lots of 8x MIJ Sony.

Hard to say, they do have a .ca site with Canadian prices but it still lists shipping method as Global Priority mail which is USPS... strange.
link to shipping FAQ on CDN site (http://www.winkflash.com/ca/content/faqs.asp#3)
also when you try to get to the Verbatim promo page through the Canadian site it's a no go. There is the dot com (http://www.winkflash.com/promos/verbatim/) link but no .ca/promos/verbatim/ link. Someone will have to volunteer to sign up and be the guinea pig for the rest. :cheesygri
