im looking to buy a computer box that is powerfull enough to run a couple graphic programs like photoshop, indesign, quark express, illustrator and an accounting program called business vision. I was looking at Futureshops webdeals but wanted to know if there are anything better for under 800$ ?

i was looking at http://www.futureshop.ca/marketing/webonly/proddetailpc.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10076551&catid=24137&PCName=web%5Fonly%5Fhome&logon=&langid=EN

was going to upgrade the ram if anything. Anyone know where i could get a better deal then that ? i dont need any operating systems preinstalled on it.

Thanks all

P.S If it can support dual monitor that a BIG bonus

Your main concern here should be a good grapics card as well as decent amount of RAM. I would suggest getting a custom built computer without an operating system to save you the money.

not only that, but home computers such as that HP computer is loaded with software you will never use in a business environment and will only serve to slow it down.

The deal Canada Computer has is decent for an Intel Dual Core Processor.

http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowBundle&cmd=pd&pid=011026&cid=170.45

It'd do better for multitasking (because of the dual core) than the system you showed. You may want to see if they'll add a custom video card for the dual display you're interested in.

Canada Computer has a flat rate shipping of $10, sort of.. they offer 'free shipping' but charge a $10 'handling fee.'

I believe you may also save the PST if you buy from out of the province.

One more thing I should add. Don't bother getting a pre-branded computer*, if you're in it for the support, unless you're getting the 'corporate' versions. Otherwise they'll stick you with cheaper components and usually out source their tech support to India or somewhere else.

* Unless you're in it for the pre-bundled operating system. They usually have a deal with Microsoft that will get you Windows for very cheap.
