The questions are the typical behavioral questions, such as tell me a time when you exceed the expectation of your customer, how you dealt with an angry customer, if you had a sales target before and how you achieved it etc.

It was a really customer service and sales-oriented phone interview. You should expect the same type of questions for the in-person.

What are your sales background?

Yup. Did the interview with them a few years back for that type of position. They pretty much asked me how I overcome conflict, what type of goals I set for myself, where I see myself in the future, etc. etc.

The FSR position is largely based on sales. So capitalize on whatever sales background you have, let them know you have no problem attaining sales quotas, you always look for cross-selling opportunities, you're comfortable with cold calling (you'll have to especially during RSP season). It's also important to ask the right questions, i.e. are you responsible for obtaining your mutual funds license or is it part of the training, will you be able to serve clients during the training period, are sales quotas measured in terms of products or revenue generated, what is the scope of products you'd be responsible for, e.t.c.

Good luck with the interview, let us know how it works out.
