You can call a freight forewarder like UPS-Supply Chain Solutions or Kuehne-Nagel and they can make all the arrangements. They are aware of all international requirements, such as local customs, steamship lines, letter of credit, customs duties/tariffs.

Its aliitle more expensive, but if you don't know what you're doing, you might get screwed.

Alternately you could call a steamship line direct such as OOCL (Orient Overseas Container Line) who serve the port in Qatar. They could probalby make some recommendations for you. Call the Toronto office at 416 620 4040
or the Vancouver office at 604 689 4144 and ask for Ocean Export.


I forgot to ask the commodity. What is it you're shipping? For example, If its personal furniture you are moving there, it might be cheaper to sell it here and buy new stuff there.
