Yes.. the planes they have are smallers.. when I flew with them on the way back I think I was in an Airbus A300.. on the way there was a Boeing with more leg room.

Skyservice has been around for a while. They do charter flights, mostly with packages. Like the two rdfers above said, it is tight.

Skyservice sucks!! We flew with them to England, which was great because they fed us and served free champagne since it was their 10th anniversary. BUT on the way back, they 'ran out of gas' and had to stop in Montreal. By the time we sat on the runway for some time, the weather in Toronto had turned bad....and then 2 hours later (while still sitting on the runway) they told us that a plane had crashed in Toronto (this is the plane that crashed last year - Air France - where everyone miraculously survived). We sat on the runway for a total of 5 hours before they let us off at a gate in Montreal. As we were getting off the plane, they told us we'd be taking a bus back to Toronto Airport (despite arguing for them to give flight arrangements or hotel, which they declined for everyone). We got to Toronto at 4 am (instead of our original flight arrival time of 3:30 pm). Although they promised to reimburse for food, they never did, nor did they give any compensation.
Considering that this was an international flight and not everyone had Cdn currency, I thought the way Skyservice handled this was disgusting.
No more skyservice for us - one 6 hour bus ride (although we booked a flight) was enough for us!!
BUYER BEWARE - They may be cheap, but you end up paying for it in the end.

Your knees are pretty much going to be touching the seat in front of you... you have no room to stretch out at all.

bring a shoe horn to help you get into the seat.
the pitch is 28"-29". AC's seat pitch in Y is typically 31"-34". make sure you get an exit row.

A crash at an airport and closing the runways is what NavCan and Transport Canada order the airport to do. The fact is that they are responsible to get you to your destination, and they did that, no compensation is required. Sorry you did not like it.
Air Transat, Zoom, Thomas Cook, Royal, Air 2000...they are all the same when it comes to seating. Most charters pack folks in tight as they can get away with. Highflyer is right, the seats are jammed in. That is why you fly for cheap.

Give me a break!!! I didn't purchase a bus ride...I paid for an airline ticket. Heck, why don't all airliners just book boats to take people across the atlantic if the only accountability they have is getting you to your end destination?!? It could be cheaper for them that way.

Go and read the Conditions of Contract that is stapled to the ticket jacket. It should say something like "Carrier may without notice substitute alternate carriers or aircraft, and may alter or omit stopping places shown on the ticket in case of necessity."
I'd hazard to guess that by the time YYZ was accepting take off and landings again, the crew of your flight was over the allowable duty time (Transport Canada regs). Thus, it would have been faster to bus the passengers than wait for a new crew to be flown in to YUL to service the flight.

Ahh yes, the old "you owe me because I am a valued clent" approach, and "you will never see me as a client again". Boy , they will miss you.
Fact is, you get what the ticket says you paid for. Oh, and sure, lets get real intelligent and ask the airlines to book boats in case there is a crash at your destination airport. As a Scientist you would supposedly use logic to determine the results of issues out of the airlines control.

Very cramp. Knee touching the seat in front cramp. Book an aisle seat so you can get up and walk around.

how is Skyservice compared to Air Transat in terms of seat space?

WAAYYY cramped. I'm only 5' 4" and MY knees were touching the seat in front of me. At 6'3" your knees will be up around your ears in order to fit...not only is the seat pitch smaller but they are also narrower. I found Air Transat more roomy...could have been that I lucked out in a newer, bigger plane?
Skyservice - they forgot the "service". Bordering on obnoxious. I've flown on lots of different airlines and it's the only airline I will never willingly fly with again.

if you're that tall you can ask for preboarding if the flight doesn't have assigned seating (like southwest and other no frills). just show up to the gate early and ask to get preboarded because of your height. they will usually allow it esp. if it is a longer flight.
