Has anyone been to the falls during the xmas holidays? Is it open, whats to do, any place serving xmas dinner?

Pretty much everything is open. Surprisingly, Xmas is very busy for the hotels. Book early. The Festival of Lights is what draws people to The Falls over Xmas...

Any specific dates? Is it just lights or any special stuff as well?

The Festival of Lights runs this year from Nov. 4th to Jan. 8th. A quick summary is located at Festival of Lights (http://www.wfol.com/) . Opening night usually consists of a Disney stage show in the park along with fireworks. If they continue with it, there will also be the electric light parade on Friday nights through the Festival dates along with the fireworks.

I was there a few years ago on Xmas eve- it was beautiful and extremely quiet. All the stores were closed - almost like we had the whole place to our selves.

Prankster: i'm assuming $199 for one night? I looked around Marriott and they have for $100 a night.....connected to casino through skywalk!

If anyone is wondering, the Niagara Fallsview Casino (when on the right side) is truly a "FALLSVIEW" ... it was amazing. I took some pictures when I was visiting a family member's room (when we were at the Falls as well at a different Hotel) so I'll load them up when I get a chance. An amazing view though, I'd stay in the hotel all day to look outside the window if that was my view :razz:

eh!! I did see that and the walk way would be cool. I have stayed there before it nice, awsome pool!!

But I have seniors travelling with me and it easier for them to stay at the casino. But thanks for tip!!!
