Because you guys are currently studying nursing you must have done some good research before so jsut wanted to find out a couple things for my neice please.

Are there any nursing schools where you can start nursing that has something like co-op program so you get job experience(and some money) in the field while studying like they do in England? And also wanted to know what are the best schools inthe GTA for nursing and is it best to go for the degree or the diploma initially and then the degree after?

Most importantly, I want to find out if you can start a nursing program if you have not finished high schoo(like just a couple more credits to go- so something like mature status entry maybe?)

Thank you in advance for your replies all of which will be greatly appreciated.

1- Not that I'm aware of. The practice you get is during the school year and you don't get paid for it like Residents do.

2- In Ontario, there are no more diplomas, only degrees because colleges who used to give out nursing diplomas are collaborating with universities to get degrees, ie. ryerson george brown centennial collaborative nursing program

3- Not sure because in all nursing programs, no matter where you go, there are minimum requirements to get in. in order to find out what those are, go to each university or college to find out more. the ones i know of are:

rye/george brown/centennial
york/humber/maybe another college?
U of T
Mcmaster/mohawk?

i'm sure about the first 3
