Does the York website list books needed for each prof/course? Last year I had to find out during the lectures but some people already had the books. Because I have a bunch of books from last year and if I'm not going to use them I want to resell them, how much % does York Bookstore pay you for last years books? Also any good places to sell books? I got POLS1000, SOSC1200 (2X course kits, non-returnable because they are probally slightly outdated each year.)& POLS2900 books.

Also when can people who submitted their photo online pick up their YU-card? The site doesn’t mention any dates.

Thanks.

York has an online bookstore, which tells you what books you are going to need, http://bookstore.yorku.ca/. Yeah, the York bookstore buy back really sucks, I try to sell my used books using the classified section they have online.

Thanks, I have the site bookmarked but never realized they had course book lists.

Your trade-in value at the official bookstore is usually quite low, sometimes it's less than the gas/bus fare to get there. If you really want to trade them in, a few of York's books are also used by Seneca @ York (their bookstore is near the cafeteria, in the main building not TEL).

I believe you can also put up notices for a limited period of time (few weeks/a month) around the campus.

There are so many avenues you can use to sell your textbooks. Make the YorkU bookstore your LAST option. They give you a MAX of 50% but you will most likely get back 10% or nothing at all because they can't use it.

I've seen a bunch of frustrated students who tried to sell back their books and got nothing.

Also to students, there's a flyer posted saying they will not due buybacks or returns the first few weeks of school due to the crowds.
