Hey Everyone,

Lurker here, just wondering if anyone has any information they can give on nice Tucson hotels and restaurants. I'll be travelling with my gf for one night, keeping it on the romantic side.

Also, I'm not sure if we'll just go back to the hotel or out for the night life... so if anyone has any reccomendations on clubs / bars that are radical, I'm all ears. (or eyes)

Thanks in advance.

This may not be much help but here goes. I stayed in Tuscon last Feb for 3 days at the Windmill Inn at St Philips Plaza. It is out of the way from most of the nightlife so you probably do not want to stay there. Most of the action (nightlife) seemed to be near the University of Arizona in the "historic" area of downtown. There is also a greyhound track nearby. The casinos are located aways out of town on the highway to Mexico.

The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum http://www.desertmuseum.org/. It sounds pretty boring and we almost didn't go however it is the most natural zoo I have ever seen with many animals in their natural environment (sometimes its hard to tell where the exhibits end). If you get a chance its worth a visit. The Mission San Xavier del Bac http://www.sanxaviermission.org/ was also a worthwhile visit as it is a 400 year old old mission that is being restored.

Have fun in the heat!
