Can someone quickly tell me about Car Rental Insurance.

I'm travelling to BC, renting a car through Budget Rental.
My insurance agent added an OPCF27 onto my insurance for Liability on Unowned Cars for $25 bucks a year
He also said, I should get the Personal Damage Waiver from the rental company at the fee of arround $25 bucks a day.

Is there anything else I need or I am missing?
I looked into various credit cards that offer the insurance but my insurance guy did say that can be risky. But I dunno.. Some of the CC offers look pretty good.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I do have a BMO Business Card and was also looking at the Mosaik Annual Fee Card...

The OCF 27 will transfer all your coverage not just liability. Rental Co's have to have Liability on there vehicle's minimum 200K. The coverage that transfers as well is the Collision & Comp.

The reason he said get personal Insur at 25 bucks a day I don't know. If you are in Ontario your A/B coverage will travel with you and you can opt to take which ever is best. i.e. if you get hurt in an accident ( touch wood) and B.C pays better benefits you can take those but if Ontario pays better you can take the ones that come with your policy.

I don't know too much more about it. I know that if I rent a car and reserve with my gold visa if anything happens to the car I pay with the same gold visa then the collision is covered under the Visa Insurance. If I don't pay with the same credit card then this is where the problems start

Good luck.

Also remember to ask for discounts on the regular rate. CAA may have some deals that gets you better rates etc. :D
