all of a sudden when i play videos, its not only upside-down, the picture is also inverted. how do i fix this?

no not trying to steal anything, videos are on my pc and i'm going thru my router to access files and watch on my laptop

Well troubleshoot it.
First see if it's the file itself by playing the video on another computer
Second see if it's an issue with the media player by trying another player.
Then see if it is a codec issue by trial and error with install/uninstalling codecs.
You can also use a program called Gspot to troubleshoot codecs.

try vlc player http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ I've never had any problems playing anything on this thing

most likely is that whatever media player you're using is flipping the image by itself.

Easy solution: orient your monitor such that you can watch the videos

'hard' but the actual solution;
just go into your media player and look for 'effects' or whatever and see if any of the effects are checked off.

Either that or problem with the codec. I've had videos flipping because of codecs.

codec issue.. hence why decoders have the 'flip' image option due to how the video was encoded (those are for more of the legacy/old school codecs)

Mine will also do that as a setting for external displays (ie. projectors and such)
