Warning - Hawking's Products

First off, I wondered if anyone did receive their rebate from that router/usb adaptor fiasco - I never got mine.
The USB adaptor just crapped out on me, so I wanted to do an rma. Imagine my surprise to note this on their rma form: "RMA service for products purchased more than 90 days prior will be charged a minimum of $10 return freight charge"!

I purchased a wireless (802.11b) router from them on boxing day in 2002. The only reason I bought it was because there was a $50 rebate and it was my first time doing a rebate.

Still waiting.

I don't think Hawking is a good company. I did not receive the rebates also.

But don't care because their product was illegal for sale in Canada.
So I got full refund from BestBuy. Will never buy this company product again.

I remember about a year ago (give or take) at BB we had this massive sale where the Router + USB adapter was like 20 bucks after MIR before tax. These things flew off the shelves...

If I remember correctly, about 1/3 of them were returned because the people realized they were garbage, even for 20.00.

The other 2/3 complained that their MIR never showed up, can't say I was surprised. Hawking products are such garbage, figures their promises would be too.

Oh, by the way, about 1 1/2 months after the crazy deal frenzy, we got a letter from head office stating that the routers were being recalled (some major defect in them). Of course, a lot of good that did for the people who bought them 1 1/2 months ago.

Anyway, sorry to hear what happened. I doubt you'll get much help from Hawking or the place you bought it from.
