I need a quote for a 500g can of this product.

I have no idea where to look, and what the variations are.

All I know is my pops asked me for an investigative endeavour from overseas as a personal favour for his associates, and here we are doing it.

Seemingly it's some high tech paint (for MSc & PhD research among others) composed of certain active molecules that can be activated by electrical (among other?) stimulation to provide ???

HELP.

All I know is they got a quote from a UK company...

Have a look and let me know please. I'm going to try a friend who graduated from MechEng and see if he knows anything.

Awww c'mon., could it be that NOBODY on rfd is in graduate studies in any field to use this? Or perhaps knows of a distributor?

Dang, are we REALLY that much of an unrefined bunch of bargain hunters

You'll probably need more info from your pop's associates to figure out what exactly it is that he wants. A quick search on google shows that liquid crystal paint can be used for the following:

1. Emit light w/ applied voltage/current to produce a super thin LCD
2. Change color w/ temperature to act as a thermometer

One of the hits from the google search yielded thermo-sensitive liquid crystal paints that change color with temperature.

Your pop got a quote from a place that sells it... yet, you want us to find a place that sells it? Why not just buy it from there?

that place is in UK., and I'm in Canada.

What more....I'm wondering wtf it's over a grand for a 500g can.

Gonna call UofO right now....let's hope I get at least a confirmation that price is good.

Dude., I was oblivious in my searches today.

I called up my university in Ottawa., but of course skeleton crew. No real answer., and I needed a reply by noon today.

I called up NRC, I called up a couple dead-end organizations., NOTHING. :(

THERE WAS NO INFORMATION, FOR THIS PRODUCT online :( So frustrating.

oh well., it's done. :)

Thanks.
