I was thinking about the differences between Judaism, Islam and Christianity (and similarities).

I was just wondering if Islam has the idea of a Messiah, and what happens when the Messiah comes (if there is one)

Thanks,
Lorne

From what I know, and correct me if I am wrong, the Messiah is Jesus peace be upon him ( who is alive and was never crucified but rather God raised him to the heavens) who will return to earth to fight the anti christ ( and will destroy him) and will then live on earth and die thereafter. Muslims will follow Jesus peace be upon him as he is a prophet of God.

^ That's partly correct.

But there is also a more important figure that will appear... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahdi has more information on that.

Both of the above 2 guys are right, but I'm pretty sure Jesus is considered the actual Messiah, whereas Mahdi is also an important figure but his job is to lead the army.

I think it'd be a very bad idea to believe in anything that comes down and creates miracles.

what happens when the Messiah comes (if there is one)

For a messiah to come, the antichrist has to come.

Religions differ on which one comes first. Therefore when they come, the entire world will fight to the death, because a lot of people are ignorant and will just take the side of whatever creates miracles first.

On another note, if there were aliens, surely they'd have read up on religions and already figured this out, and plan to come down as imposters soon.

Thanks guys.

I am glad that some ppl are trying to understand more about others belief. World would be much more peaceful if we all did and tried to understand the concept of each others religions and beliefs.

Muslims believe in Jesus and Moses, peace be upon them, as christian and jews beleive in them, respectively. Infact if you don't beleive in Jesus or Moses then you are not a muslim. However muslims don't beleive that Jesus is son of God.

The 'story' of the fight between good (Christ) and evil (anti-christ, Dajhal) and the events that will take place before the day of judgement is a very interesting read.

"...and they plan, and Allah plans too, and Allah is best of planners"

That's only a certain sect of Shia Muslims, however the Jesus thing, as far as I know, is universal with Muslims, whatever their sect may be.

Ignorents will stay ignorent. And ppl who beleive and are on the right path will be guided by God to be on the right side. It will be a bloody battle nevertheless.

Actually, No. the coming of Mahndi is a universal beleif among muslims. There are differences as to when He will come. Some say He already is here, just laying low right now. And yea before someone says something, he is not big laden for sure.

Hey - If Muslims believe in Jesus and Christians believe in Jesus ... then maybe the Muslims should stop beating on us Christians. You should also sell us oil for cheaper.

Screw the Chinese instead (oh oh - what will I start now - chuckle chuckle - hey Carlos Mencia and Jon Stewart would probably say something like that)
