View Full Version : What is it about breasts/cleavage that men are so attracted to?

I was reading the other thread about girls having low cut shirts and guys wanting to look. I scrolled down the page and saw a picture of some average cleavage.

my eyes automatically went straight to the cleavage line [or where the cleavage line would be if my dail up weren't so frigen slow].

I know all guys, myself included, are very attracted to breasts. But why is that? No matter if the girl is ugly, tall, short, blonde, chinese, etc. We always look at breasts. Or is that just me?

Another question to bring up is why our eyes wounder down there when a face is so much more to look at. I mean they are just breasts. Isn't it something like fatty issue hanging off her chest?

Everything about the attractiveness of the female has to do with communicating reproductive viablility.

Big breasts indicate to the male mind that this female will have a higher probability of successfull reproduction and nurturing of babies.

Other factors which indicate reproductive health include:

1. Long legs
2. Proper ration between breasts waist hips
3. Blondes have higher estrogen levels

"older women" lose their attractiveness because fertility drops as they get over 30

Sorry guys - in effect you are programmed for this.
For this reason homosexual males do not get sexually stimulated by female bodies - their brains work differently

Ironically enough I read up on this awhile back, And being a breast man partly has to do with your mother, I know this is where it starts to get a little iffy and thinkign abotu it may lead you to become an ass man lol....

SO it has to dela with breastfeeding, and as a child (if you were breastfed i take it) you sought cleavage as a sense of security, nourishment, and were generally comfortable and seeked that comfort zone (when being breastfed) as an adult, you still see that comfortablness...

Its a very rough example, bu very true I believe...Not sure where i found this theory from when I did that study...but It was very interesting...sorry if I transformed some breastmen into assmen now lol, BREATMAN FOR LIFE!

What a dumb question. Thats like asking why women like cars and muscles. Arent cars just a piece of metal with wheels on it? Infact, why do humans like anything? Rhetorical questions=lose.

And I think you are over exaggerating on the whole cleavage line.

Freud was a twisted prick, here is a more reasonable explanation.

Large breast in woman denotes fertility and plenty of milk for the baby, hence a male would be attracted to her knowing she can nourish his offspring more efficiently - its all about evolution!

The same goes for the ass, a large behind is usually accompanied by strong child bearing hips, so a sign of a healthy would-be mother.

Its because you've been repressed and denied the opportunity for viewing those things, they become more interesting. If you lived in a nudist colony and saw flesh everyday, it would become less interesting to you.

The pure truth of it all is due to evolution and survival of the species. There is an instinctual need behind it all. The breasts on a woman were developed as a way to attract the male species much like the way the inflamed asses on the great apes are there to attract. They are just damned nice to look at.

3. Blondes have higher estrogen levels

ok, what about parts of the world where there are no blondes - i.e. EVERYWHERE outside of Europe?

edit: i'm referring to the places-of-origin of people, which is why north america doesn't count.

What Turns Them On?

What Turns Them On Pt.2
http://articles.pointshop.com/sexuality/8681.php

2. Full Breasts

Late teens and early twenties are men's favorite for breasts. As this is a woman's sexual and reproductive peak. Typical of what you would find in clothing ads and erotic magazines. But don't worry if yours are not quite like that because research and common knowledge show that men love breasts no matter what size. So they are not only attracted to large breasts. They just simply love them all. Breasts are mostly fat tissue which is not involved in the production of milk but gives them that contoured look. Breast mostly change only a little during pregnancy. They are usually used for sexual signaling. The patch around the nipple is called the areola and it has small glands that during sexual activity actually emit a scent. Which in turn stimulates the male brain. Now that goes to show you why men like to spend there time there.

14. Long hair

A single hair lives for 6 years; you loose 80-100 hairs a day. Blondes have an average of 140,000 hairs, brunettes 110,000 and redheads 90,000. Blondes have higher estrogen levels that men pick up on and see them as being more fertile. Blonde hair is also seen as a sign of youth. Smooth, silky clean looking hair is seen as a sign of good health. And the capability to carry offspring. Out of a survey of 5000 men 75% of them where more attracted to long hair as the other 12% was for shorter hair. And the other had no preference.

Cavegirls were first blondes to have fun
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-2058688,00.html

According to the study, north European women evolved blonde hair and blue eyes at the end of the Ice Age to make them stand out from their rivals at a time of fierce competition for scarce males. The study argues that blond hair originated in the region because of food shortages 10,000-11,000 years ago. Until then, humans had the dark brown hair and dark eyes that still dominate in the rest of the world. Almost the only sustenance in northern Europe came from roaming herds of mammoths, reindeer, bison and horses. Finding them required long, arduous hunting trips in which numerous males died, leading to a high ratio of surviving women to men. Lighter hair colours, which started as rare mutations, became popular for breeding and numbers increased dramatically, according to the research, published under the aegis of the University of St Andrews.

Think of this - even Japanese men find blondes to be more attractive than Japanese women and Japanese women dye their hair blonde

That's bs. When humans lived in caves there was no shampoo and conditioner for females to have 'long silky' hair. So, that statement is total nonsense from an evolutionary point of view.

Healthy dogs have a shinier coat than dogs that are not so healthy.
Dogs don't care about shampoo and conditioner.

It's BS because that's due to Westernization of Japanese society and the Japanese "worshipping" anything seen as having a Western/European origin.

It's pretty clear that when you get out of the bubble that is European society, blonde hair isn't too relevant to most ethnicities.

No, I was talking about when humans were cave dwellers, before civilization, when women spend their days working or searching for food. Those women's hair worked as insulation against cold and I'm sure it was greasy and filthy. So, the whole idea of 'silky smooth hair' is very recent.

OK - in which ethnicities do males NOT fantasize about blondes?
I watched a CBC documentary a while back on the World Sex Trade and they stated that white women with blonde hair and blue eyes had the "highest value".

Yup thats true, even in the western bubble blond hair isnt too relevant for me personally, it's jsut the social stigma that has been brought up for so long, but I think othe things have superceded the typical blond hair blue eyed attraction.

Lawl I wouldnt say "the most inaccurate". I obviously didnt emphasize enough on that statement.
I can avoid looking at a womens breasts when talking to her face to face without glancing down. Im sure any man can, but the op is saying he always looks at breast first even if though the face is generally "is much more to look at". I assume its only him.

And in regads to the supposed "Safety factor" I can honestly say that is probably the most inaccurate comment "Ever" on rfd. Are you speaking for the WHOLE female population or select few? I would have never come up with the idea that women like cars due to the fact that its a possible "SAFETY FACTOR" for their families. I assume that they want money and goods in exchange for sex, at least the majority.

i'm still not 100% sure about the whole "girls like cars" thing. i don't think you can reduce it to such a generic statement (duh!). women/girls in different stages of their life will prefer, i think, males with different sorts of cars.

for example, most of my female friends currently seem to "notice" the guys driving luxury marques (Lexii)... and they snub the ones driving "pocket rockets" (modded out Integras)
coincidentally, they're all currently in "marriage age" with most of them engaged or whatnot.

I agree, and psychologically it is true. A chick with nice breasts in a nice bikini will get your attention more than a nude one, over a longer period of time, because psychologically, your brain will try to imagine and fantasize about what those breasts look like under the bikini. If you see them bare, in the short run, your brain likes what it sees, but you already see what's there, so there's not as much perversion, and fantasizing in the brain, thus less hormones triggered off by the brain.

This is better explained by the following diagram:

Go ask your mom. Check out her cleavage. Ask what's so attractive about her fat tissues.
