- Benzoyl peroxide,
- Salicylic Acid,
- sulfur

Use something that exfoliates the skin before you put on the acne treatment.
You can also some Spectral Gel (sp?) from shoppers.

If your face is naturally oily, you can try using a toner.

Steivamycin. This drug is only prescription so you gotta get a dermatolgist first. If you have a drug plan, you can get it for free.
In regards to your oily skin, I have come to a conclusion that you can only go so far to treat it. TRUST ME, ive tried everything to get rid of stupid oily skin (I have combination skin, oily around the nose and forehead) and ALL products work to AN EXTENT. No moisturizer will complete get rid of oily skin, although it can reduce it. Your face wont look perfect, but will help.
For my Oily skin, I use this stuff called La roche posay. Its 25$ for 30 ml of lotion and it works pretty well.

Make sure you use a non oil-based moisturizer.
Vivi has it right, La roche posay is a springwater-based formula because it contains no irritants that can trigger breakouts.

You can also try mixing rubbing alcohol and distilled water (in a 1:1 ratio). Basically, just apply it (using a cotton ball) after washing your face. I've tried it years ago and it worked wonders.

Which is what most alcohol based toners are.

If you're a girl go on the pill.
If you're a boy - no comment.
Tip to prevent scarring / recurring whiteheads though: polysporin.

ProActiv worked best for me.
Sometimes zits are purely hormonal when you're younger, some people are more prone to them than others. THere's even a study that says masturbation causes zits, because of the homones, so maybe try not to yank your crank for a week and if your face clears up, then you've just discovered the cure ;)

You can also consider taking some multi-vitamins more concentrated in Vitamins B5 and 12.
Vitamin B5 helps break down skin oil.

Which is VERY bad for your skin.
Proactiv is just BP. You can buy BP products much cheaper elsewhere.
I can't use BP cuz it irritates my skin, so instead I use SA (Paula's Choice) as a spot treatment. Works like a charm every single time.

I used Accutane as well but after about 6-7 months they started growing again (but less). But it cleared the scars from before. Now I'm back on antibiotics (Mynocin) (stops new ones from growing). Creams like stievamycin don't do much for me. I've never really tried over-the-counter methods but my guess is they only work if you have like 1 or 2 zits...

Your soap could be drying out your skin and making it oilier!
try using a light moisturizer that is antibacterial, like clean and clear or Fructis maybe.
I have oily skin that still sometimes breaks out (it's genetic >:( )....
and if you use soap for oily skin i find your skin will be even oilier a few hours later if you don't moisturize.
Sulfur products smell horrible.
I have some at home and they work ok, but are overly drying.
Try Neostrata products.
They have a line for Blemishes that is great (it's prescription in the US..but not Canada).

Well, like I said, you can experiment at home, and see for yourself if it's true or not. Don't beat the bishop for a week, and if your face clears up, then you know why... :cheesygri

Decapitation will take care of that acne problem.
Hey, it was funny when 15_20_God said it, so I thought it was worth a shot.

Are you not aware that pimples also grow on your neck, chest and back? In that case, you might as well chop off your torso...

With skin care, the more you use, the worst your problem will be. Plus, you'll create a bunch of other problems that weren't there to begin with. It's better to use a gentle cleanser and a basic moisturizer without all the frills and extra ingredients. Stay away from department store brands because they're usually full of potentially irritating ingredients.
If you have oily skin, DO NOT use oil blotters. Your face will produce more oil to compensate for the oil that was blotted away.
