Any opinion on these? Thier is also the Athena system at $350, which looks like the regular price now...

I picked up this set when it was $399 about 1.5 months ago. Simply amazing. It makes my whole house shake. The sub is very powerful and looks sweet too! At $349, you really can't go wrong.

Look like decent speakers, but price isn't that hot when compaired elsewhere: http://reviews.cnet.com/JBL_SCS180_6S/4864-7868_7-31231439.html?ctype=msgid&messageSiteID=7&messageID=1748628&cval=1748628&tag=uolst

Thinking about new speakers for my computer, how do these compare to Logitech's Z-5500 set?

These will be better than most any "computer speakers" as they are intended for general use and a higher starting point. That said I have an older version of this set and can say for the price and size they are quite good, you can't expect much at this price piont though. The sub is generally crap.

Seems like a newer version, but the Sub is 8" and 100 watts vs 10" 150
Guessing the Futureshop one might be better.
Any one care to guess how these would compare to the Athena Micro 6?

The JBL sub is much better than the 8" sub in the micra 6 package. The sub in the micra 6 package is terrible.

I think the one that BestBuy carries is better.

I think the one that BestBuy carries is better.
Hmm.. the FS one has a 150W subwoofer, compared to the 100W one at BB. The rest of the specs appear to be the same.

Believe these are NOT amplified speakers and thus not for computers.
