Looking for a nice pocket knife, maybe something like the one in this thread (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158366&highlight=pocket+knife). You must be willing to ship. Looking to spend between $30-150 depending on the knife.

BTW, I'de like to keep this thread non-discussion, I see what happend to the other one. Frankly, if you see a pocket knife as a tool that can only be used as a self defense tool, you are sadly mistaken. If your a handy person, just think about how many different times in your day you need to cut something or a knife could be handy. I am personally sick of things like having to go home to get a knife to open a clamshell packaging box up because I have no knife on me.

carry a leatherman micra with you on your keychain, or keep a leatherman wave with you in the car.

Was thinking about one of those, but still looking for any pocket knives anybody might have for sale.

Knives. Also interested in a nice swiss army multi tool, but not as much, if it's a multi tool, it has to be nice and compact like a swiss arny knife. I still am looking for a good pocket knife anyway though.

How could that work as a local deal... oO

I mean, someone pulling out a knife is one of the worst things that could possibly go wrong... (second to a gun) How would you know if you were being mugged, or just being shown the knife?

Yeah, that's why I'm opting for the guy to ship me it.

Plus, It'de look like I'm buying weapons off a guy from the street. Just imagine an RFDER pulling out a gun in the middle of the shopping mall and I giving him some money, or replace that with a knife which isn't that much better.

Are you willing to have someone buy it and ship it to you? If so, Forest City Surplus in London has a very large knife collection. I bought one similar to the one in the top of this pic:

http://www.jimrichberg.com/astronomy/knives_open.jpg

Mine's an Oscar, not as pointy, is 1/2 serrated, and has holes in the handle to keep it light. It was either $7 or $9 before tax. Though, if you're looking for something super fancy that you're never gonna use--you'd best look elsewhere. I've had mine for about 7 years and I've used it to whittle, as a screwdriver, to unjam spray can tubes, to peel oranges, to open doors, cut rope......well, you get the idea. They sell "working" knives there. They have a "show" knife section, but it's full of intricate swords, daggers and stuff like that. I never really pay attention to that section.

They look nice, but I am kind of interested in a columbia river or more expensive one (I don't even know why I care about the price myself.) I already carry a pocket knife on me at all times, but it's very old and is rusting away so I figure I should replace it with something good that'll last me a long time.

Why not just go out & buy one. How do you know the knife you're buying second hand hasn't been mistreated

I don't know where to buy a good knife like a benchmade in Toronto for a decent price. I don't have an ebay account so I can't buy off ebay.

I found this one to be ok but sometimes a little small.

Here is the multi-tool I have. For 5 bucks you might think it to be junk but it is actually really handy and quality is much better than expected.

I'll toss my vote in for the above poster's Gerber Gator-Mate (http://www.gerberstore.com/index.php?xpage=itempage&xid=365) recommendation. Great blade, and the rubberized grip is fantastic. If you want something a little fancier the AR 3.00 BBS (http://www.gerberstore.com/index.php?xpage=itempage&xid=344) is quite nice. Both the Gator and AR are a little large for a day-to-day pocket knife IMO though (perfect for camping and fishing), I prefer the EZ Out Junior (http://www.gerberstore.com/index.php?xpage=itempage&xid=375) - perfect size and the belt clip is excellent, put some loctite on the screw holding the clip though, it tends to loosen.

(can you tell I'm a gerber knife fan? Can't stand the gerber multi tools though)

I've never heard of either of those brands before today. I've looked them up online, and they seem to be more collector's knives than actual utility. They appear to be mighty fine knives though. If that's what you're looking for then Gerber can't compete. Gerber makes great knives for daily use/hunting/fishing though. I've had different gerber knives for at least 15 years now, and I've never had one fail in any way or get a single bit of rust on the blade. They hold a nice edge too, I'd be scared to sharpen one a microtech or a benchmade :)

I want something sharp. I'm hoping to cut myself one day out of stupidity and after that never do something stupid with a knife. I know it sounds crazy, but I want to learn to properly handle an knife without being stupid, and if I get cut in the process so be it. Plus, I need something nice and sharp, those clamshell packaging are real b1tches if you know what I mean.

ive sold a high power air gun that shoots a 0.17 lead projectile @ 495fps to someone the forum before. This was pre-no air gun/airsoft rules.
thats an uptowards speed of 500km per hr.
Just meet in a public place and things will be fine.
