$69.99-40.00 = $29.99

PM opportunities possible. In stock GVR

Don't flame me about the fingerprint reader and how useless it is! At this price, the wireless mouse alone is cheaper than any basic Microsoft wireless mouse. This one has a tilt-wheel and 2 programmable buttons too :D

I'm not going to buy it because I already have a wired mouse, but I've tried this one and it's pretty good. Fairly smooth, has 2 extra buttons on the side, pretty comfortable.

Might not work well for left-handers though.

I disagree. I have the really old version of this mouse, the Intellimouse Explorer, and love it. I'm so happy with it that 5 years later, I still don't see the need to get a more sophisticated mouse. From what I see, I doubt anyone would use their mouse for more than a year anyways before the next 50000000dpi super duper extreme gaming mouse comes along  .

Does this bundle need 2 USB ports?

Does this bundle need 2 USB ports?

I'd assume it would, but it may come with a USB-PS2 adapter for the mouse.

I guess that you can't use the fingerprint reader by itself since it's also the transmitter....

The fingerprint reader alone is 49.99 >:(

I was looking into it before. In case people don't know, this fingerprint reader only works for webpages. So, if you intent to use it to log onto Windows, you're out of luck. To me, the limitation to only webpages password is a deal breaker. Plus, imagine if a hacker can now steal your fingerprint info stored in the PC. That's more of a risk than protection. After a second thought, I pass.

Not true. It can absolutley be used to logon to your PC. I maybe limited to XP but it does work to logon. Your second point is valid - this is not a security device. It is a convenience device. Simply put it tracks all your user names in an encrypted file and your fingerprint is used to decrpt, access and enter your infomration automatically. How secure is the encryption - you decide.

From this (http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/3/9/139a8c30-34cc-4453-a449-7a1c586a3ae5/Wireless_IntelliMouse_Explorer_with_Fingerprint_Re ader.pdf) MS document:

"To log on to Windows by using your registered fingerprint
• At the Welcome screen or One Touch Logon screen, touch the fingerprint reader with
any registered finger.
Important
• If your computer is a member of a domain, you cannot use your fingerprint to log
on to Windows, you must use your password. However, after you have logged on to
Windows, you can use your fingerprint to log on to any Web sites and programs that
you have created fingerprint logons for.
• If you want to use your fingerprint to switch between Windows user accounts,
you must turn on the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching before you install
DigitalPersona Password Manager software. For more information about Fast User
Switching, see “Using Your Fingerprint to Switch Windows User Accounts” later in
this manual."

Nice to know that you can use that to log on. When I read through a bunch of user reviews from various sites, people stated that it can only be used for websites. Not sure why, maybe there has been an update on the product?

good deal bc

I use it for programs, websites and more. It is awesome.

Pretty good on battery life too.

I use it with Windows XP for logging in.

I can also login to ICQ/MSN using the fingerprint reader. This device is for convenience, not for protection. If you want something like this for security reasons, get the ones with USB drive + onboard fingerprint reader. The fingerprint data is stored on the USB drive so hackers can only hack into your stored data when the device is connected to the PC.

That's how I'm using it now, little disappointed, it doesn't work with firefox (even with the plugin) and it will only work with sites that have the "pop up" password box. If the login is embedded into the webpage itself it won't work :(

Hey guys... refer to this post:
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278840

I have nothing, but good things to say about this combo. Initially my plan was to use the mouse with my laptop and fingerprint scanner with my desktop but that quickly changed when I realized that its not really possible since the fingerprint scanner is also a receiver for the wireless mouse.

All in all excellent product even for $29.99. Would definitely recommend.

I use to logon to windows xp, RFD, MSN, Yahoo, hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail... just wicked!!

Yes, I picked this up last month, specifically for the mouse. I had an old Intellimouse Explorer that I loved, but was getting creaky after three years. I love the mouse, and the fingerprint reader is a great convenience. I mainly use it for Gmail and logging into some discussion forums, but neat nonetheless. A great buy! The mouse alone goes for more than this.

I just bought this today, and start loving it! No long password entering for logging on Windows any more!

Only thing to complain is it won't work with my MS 3.0 wireless keyboard, so I have to plug two receivers. Maybe I didn't try hard enough, is there anyone successfully did that?
