Sixth Sense actor Haley Joel Osment has broken a rib and suffered a possible fractured his right shoulder blade, after crashing his car in Los Angeles.
Osment was driving home alone when his car collided with a pillar and flipped over, the AP news agency quoted police.
The 18-year-old was taken to Pasedena's Huntington Hospital, where doctors said he was expected to recover.
"He's pretty uncomfortable and resting," said Dr Paul Gilbert, an orthopaedic surgeon at the hospital.
"He just wants to let everyone know he's going to be OK."
Asked if the actor had been tested for alcohol, Dr Gilbert said: "I'm sure blood samples were taken but I don't have a comment on that."
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt Greg Sisneros said Osment was awake and talking to police.
Osment achieved fame when he was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor for his role in 1998's The Sixth Sense, as a young boy who is able to see ghosts.
He also appeared in Steven Spielberg's AI and alongside Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey in Pay It Forward.
He is set to appear in the upcoming film Home of the Giants, where he plays a high school journalist following a basketball team's journey to a state championship.
