So I saw it today at Varsity. It was funny, in my opinion better than the first. KS fans, you'll like this one. The wordplay was great, some of the jokes were slap my knee and call me cowboy funny, but what really made the movie was the buildup to Kelly. (Watch the movie and find out.)

After see Jay and Silent Bob in the theatre when it came out, you couldn't drag me to another Kevin Smith movie...

It's considered a niche or cult status film by most. I have a feeling that word of mouth will do a lot for this movie over the next week though.

For those who watched it, can you confirm with me wether they brought back the 3d image bit from Mallrats?

Clerks doesn't feel right with in colour and a budget greater than $28k

lol that too. Also though i feel jay and silent strike back ruined alot of fans who might have been interested in clerks 2, i will go and see it for sure, but J&SB strickes back definetely killed it for alot of people, i mean chasing amy, clerks, mallrats, these were classics, and then J&SB strike backs comes out of nowhere and ruines the kevin smith genre IMHO.

I thought Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was okay. Wasn't terrible. Just not up to par with the other Kevin Smith movies.

Clerks 2 went back to what Kevin Smith is famous for: Incredible Charactor Development, with cleverly placed offensive style humour to keep you off balance.

Hey guys, I want to see Clerks II, but I don't want to go in there knowing nothing. Can you tell me which movies, aside from Clerks I would have to see to be filled in? I have seen Dogma and Mallrats before, which I liked :lol:

You only need to see Clerks in order to know what's going on in this one.

Although there is a cameo in there by Ben Affleck and Jason Lee.

Let me get this straight. Jason Lee is the guy who plays Earl from "My Name is Earl", right?

He was also a star in 3 of Smith's films: Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma. Except for the original Clerks, he's been in every one of the Askew-verse flicks in some capacity.

I didn't like the idea that he was making II...ruin a Classic...ironically he used it discussing Star Wars and the Prequels...!!!

Weakest Kevin Smith movie I've seen...the writing was dry...it was either rushed or ran out of material...it started/ended slow...IMO...!!!

Clerks
Chasing Amy
Dogma
Mallrats
Jay & Silent Bob
Clerks II

He was in Dogma too? I have not seen that yet. But were they all the same character?

It could be I haven't seen mallrats in awhile but I find that character he played there becoming a comic book artist/writer(?) in the other flicks.

Jason Lee:
Mallrats = Brodie
Chasing Amy = Banky
Dogma = Azrael (some devil from Hell)
J&SBSB = Brodie & Banky
Jersey Girl = "PR Guy #1"
Clerks II = Lance Dowds

Ben Affleck
Mallrats = Shannon Hamilton
Chasing Amy = Holden McNeil
Dogma = Bartleby
J&SBSB = Holden McNeil / Ben Affleck
Jersey Girl = Ollie Trinke
Clerks II = "Gawking Guy"

Absoloutely did not like dogma, while Jay adn silent bob had it's moments, again the classics in my opinion are clerks, chasing amy, and mallrats

You don't have to see the other movies to enjoy it, but it sure helps. There are lots of little things hidden in it.
