Hey all,

I'm just curious why the PC website, doesn't have all 3 accounts linked (savings/chequing, mastercard, and PC points).

I love using PC financial, but that is probably my biggest peeve with it; Having to log into my personal banking, and then log into my mastercard account.

My RBC account has both the savings/chequing and visa linked. Is there some reason why PC isn't the same way (e.g mastercard won't let them?).

I actually submitted a request in those customer survey things, but nothing came of it.

I SO agree with you. I've been asking them to link it for over a year now...
I dunno why they haven't yet done it.

I find it irritating that I to login to my PC bank account and login to my PC MC. Even thou I do like PC's products... I do find them a strange company.

It's because they're actually different companies.

Way back when, when they debuted their new (current) site (went from preschoicefinancial.com to pcfinancial.ca), they boasted the sites would be linked. Apparently they couldn't get it to work so here we are. And I guess they stopped trying?

Are they not linked? You have a drop down menu and can do exactly those three things. Or do you mean you don't like entering your info again? Either way, minor thing and I think the system is awesome. Love the user interface and ability to do so much. Very user friendly IMO.

Still bitter about them implementing the $4.97 S/C for overdraft though...got burned a few times. Finally got rid of my $1400 overdraft completely. I only wasn't careful with debits....and I rather have "no funds" doing that then a stupid quick $5 charge. If I have no funds it's because I didn't transfer enough from my savings. And in a situation like that I just use my borrowing account for the day, or charge by CC.

I Agree They Should Link All Of Them Together. Their Interfaces Are Very User Friendly And Would Be More Efficent With All Accounts In One!

Yeah they told that to me too... Still don't agree. Both are a PC product, so they should be linked. MIND you, nothing important, just a convience that's all.

When you pay zero fees, your level of service expecations should be similarly low.

The reason they're not linked is probably due to cost.

It's because the banking products are provided by CIBC (PC Financial) and the Mastercard is through PC Bank (which is owned by Loblaws).

Both are BRANDED 'Presidents Choice'.. your bank accounts are really just CIBC accounts and PC is paying the fee's for ya (their return on that is the hope you buy all of your groceries from them).

Overall, PC is a brand and nothing more. They 'do' very little, yet have products competing with almost every major brand/manufacturer out there. They don't operate chicken farms and they don't bottle salad dressing yet both are available for purchase under the PC brand. So it shouldn't be a surprise that they don't run personal banking services.

All just rebranding and sub-contracting.

I noticed recently that PC is even a cellular service provider now (i.e. reseller for someone else).

They are rebranding Bell Mobility services.
