Hi,
We currently have Rogers Digital Cable in our house, and only in our living room do we have that Digital Terminal set up. In the basement and in the bedrooms its just the coaxial cable going into the tv, no digital box. Im just wondering what are my options here as to getting a 2nd digital terminal? Does Rogers give out 2nd terminals for free to subscribers that have almost everything with them (phone/internet/tv) or?

Thanks :)

No they do not.

It's best to purchase the 2nd one rather than rent it for $5 per month.

BB/FS often have them on sale for as low as $50-$60 during the course of the year (down from $90-$100).

Even the HD ones?

No, the HD ones are a hundred or so more or a higher renting fee depending on if you want to own it or not.

Futureshop should still be having their 2/$99 on the Standard Definition boxes if youre looking.

Anyone know if I just have regular analog cable now and I bought a SD box would I have access to timeshifting, the tv guide, etc? or would I have to tell Rogers and pay some extra fee?

Just keep an Eye on Ebay i picked up a HD receiver same are Rogers one for Dirt Cheap, and they grumbled but they still let me use it.. Saved Hella money in the end..
Just go to there site, look at what Receivers are availbile and then Search for the Same Models on Ebay..

Note that Rogers would expect you to pay the additional outlet fee in order to activate a second digital box.

I just called them to ask which models would work on if I chose to buy it, they told me any model in Futureshop would work, just ask for it to be with Rogers. I then asked them how about if I buy it from ebay from a guy in quebec, he told me i would need to give him a serial number on the back to see if it would work, so luckily the ebay description had it in there and i gave it to him and he said it wont work on our setup... Im just wondering if this whole serial number thing is just an excuse or is it really true? Thanks

Also, the ebay seller did say he did have it set up on the Rogers system, but he is in Quebec.

I got mine from California, i never checked the Serial Number.. Then when i first called the guy i talked to said it wouldnt work cause it wasnt a compatible serial, so i told him i wanted to talk to the Super, beucase that a Frickin Gay reasons, since it was the same as the one on there web site..
So After some talking with the super he said it would be fine, and had me read off a million frickin nuber off the bottem, and then from the actual software while it was running..

Bottem line as long as its the same model as the one on Rogers site, it should work just dont take crap from Rogers, or shaw. whatever.. they just want you to buy there Crap at hell prices.
