Hi All,
I'm not happy with my current self-directed RRSP institution. So, I'm looking to transfer it to another institution. A couple of years a go, everyone had some offer to sweeten the deal if you transfer the account to them.
Today, the majority of the institutions (that have offers) have the same offer:
1. They will wave the Administrative Fee if you keep $xxxx in the account. (Wow. considering that lots of places have no-fees with no min. amount...)
2. They will pay the transfer cost upto $125.
A couple of months back, Etrade had an offer of creditting you $5 per every $1,000 transfered upto $100,000. According to the site, that offer expired.
Anyone know of a current existing offer? Or should I just approach the institution and bargin with them?
Thanks
